Seattle can't afford him if he decides to come back. The Seahawks are currently $9.7M under the cap, they'll need roughly $5.6M for the rookie pool. If Lynch comes out of retirement, they'll owe him $6.5M.

Marshawn Lynch’s visit to Raiders headquarters reportedly included Lynch telling the team that he’s ready to end his retirement in order to return to the NFL to play for Oakland. He’s reportedly ready to let the NFL know he’s ready to return as well. Ed Werder of ESPN reports that Lynch has started the reinstatement process in hopes of joining the Raiders.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Peterson is not expected to sign with anyone before the 2017 NFL Draft.

He threw in a “barring a dramatic shift,” but really there’s no reason for a team to be in a hurry. The Marshawn Lynch-to-Oakland dance seems to be nearing its anticipated conclusion, and teams in the market for a running back can decide among Leonard Fournette, Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook, and others. And if they’re just looking for a talented one with baggage, they can draft Joe Mixon. The Patriots and Saints have brought Peterson in for a look, and other teams such as the Giants have kept his name on their lips. But apparently no one is ready to do anything soon.

Jeff Duncan is hearing that the Saints are still “very much” involved with free agent RB Adrian Peterson and are still discussing a possible short-term contract.

As suspected, the NFL schedule-makers knew before we did. What is so ironic is that he's a horrible fit for their offense.

He'll take over the Tim Hightower, run into the offensive line and try to smash through, role.

He won't be very good at that, considering how much he likes to dance.

PFT this morning says that it's a two year, $7 million contract. I think that is the very best financial contract AP could expect. it will be interesting to see how he does when the whole defense isn't scheming to stop him!! If he can perform at 75% effectiveness, he and Brees may be extending each others careers!

Peterson's deal is a one-year contract to start with an option for a second year for New Orleans. Peterson will earn $3.5 million in fully guaranteed money this season with a $2.5 million signing bonus and $1 million in guaranteed base salary. His 2018 option would carry $3.5 million in non-guaranteed money with $2.4 million in roster bonuses. The $3.5 million comes from $1.05 million in base salary, $1.65 million in per game roster bonuses, a $750,000 roster bonus that triggers on the third day of the league year and a $50,000 workout bonus.

Incentives also exist that could raise the total value of the contract. With those parameters in place, Peterson would carry a salary cap charge of $2.25 million this year for the Saints and a $4.75 million total charge in 2018.
