Two weeks away. What murmurs are you hearing about your favorite teams?

The Panthers' most reliable beat writer said that if a gun were held to his head, he would predict Carolina selecting Christian McCaffrey "if they stay at 8" and assuming Leonard Fournette is gone. Interesting that he included the "if they stay at 8" part in his tweet.

Says the team is very impressed with Fournette, McCaffrey, and Njoku. Doesn't have a feel yet for our thoughts on Howard.

Also, historically, the Panthers under Gettleman always draft players we meet with and so far we have not met Derek Barnett, who is a popular mock pick.

So far, I've seen/heard all of the following in the last few days:

*Adam Shefter reporting that the Browns are split 50/50 on Garrett/Trubisky at #1

*The Browns may take Fournette at #1

*The Browns love Trubisky/Watson at #12

*The Browns love Malik Hooker and O.J. Howard

*The Browns won't trade the #1 pick (Hue Jackson Quote)

*The Browns will take the entire time before selecting #1 overall (Sashi Brown Quote)

Cowboys have been linked to TJ Watt probably moreso than any other prospect.

He's probably the pick if he's still on the board.

Giants have meet with Njoku four times according to Walterfootball. Giants once again doing a great job being inconspicuous leading up to the draft.

Would be pretty great to have a legit TE to go along with OBJ / Marshall / Sheppard at WR.

It's the lying season for sure, but if the Browns still need another 15 mins to make a pick after all that time, their GM should be embarrassed. They are literally the only team that doesn't have to wait on the board to fill to know who their #1 guy is. That's gotta be a BS rumor.

Browns are pulling out all the stops to be obvious in their desire to move their pick. As one GM said WTTE "We are not all in the business of helping the Browns rebuild."

The fact that they keep throwing out random names as bait sez they don't have any teams on the hook.

The Bull have an offer to them. Not a King's Ransom. More like the ransom of an obscure earl.

That's a direct quote from their GM, so it's not a BS rumor. My guess is that Hue's quote about "Not trading the #1 pick" isn't true and that they will take the entire time to field offers for the pick.

I'd bet that they know for certain who they're drafting, it's just a matter of hearing all offers if they get one that they can't pass up.

you wait the 15 minutes to see if someone is willing to blow you away with a deal.

Fair enough if it's a trade angle. But even then Garrett is far and away the #1 guy (no matter what they might say about Trubisky). That would have to be a sick, sick offer to trade off that spot. Not sure how 15 more mins convinces a buyer to suddenly upgrade an offer to blow CLE away.

This was posted by one of our guys in the 49er forum

Quote:
@nfldraftscout says that #49ers board, as he's heard, goes Garrett, Foster, Fournette. Says talk of Thomas/QB falls outside of those 3.

i would dig the pick.

gives us someone to spell j-stew/be the rb of the future, a slot receiver, and maybe even a return specialist.

we need to give cam some weapons because benji, olsen, stew, and some JAGs at WR isn't gonna cut it.

Especially with Ginn leaving, the Panthers definitely need some home run hitters. Frankly McCaffrey might fit what they need better than Fournette (who would admittedly take away the need for so many Cam RZ calls, but that's what a guy like Stewart should offer regardless).

I generally don't value taking RB in Rd 1, given how short most of their careers are compared to other premium skill positions, but I get why CAR would look to a guy like McCaffrey. If they don't go McCaffrey, there's no value in going OL that early, so I could see WR/TE for sure as plan B, if they stick to O instead of an EDGE rusher or CB.

All this link of McCaffrey to Denver is pointless. He won't be there at 20 and of they give up assets for him that's a waste also.

There is a rumored trade back to 33. Perhaps the deal involves Joe Thomas but I doubt it. Browns have invested a lot in the oline. If a trade did happen I could see Denver moving 20 and 101 for 33 and Thomas. Again if Thomas was involved but I doubt it.

I believe the Cam Robinson interest is real. He fits the power they are leaning towards. Could play LT in a power scheme in my opinion similar to a Cordy Glenn. Lighter but more athletic than Cordy.
