Returned from skiing in Colorado and thought it would be a good idea to throw together another mock. Tried to vary things a little and get some newer names into the discussion.

Round 1
TJ Watt EDGE Wisconsin

HT: 6042
WT: 252
40: 4.69
Vert: 37
Broad: 127
Short shuttle: 4.13
3 cone: 6.79
Other options: Charles Harris, Jabrill Peppers, Gareon Conley

To me just seems like a GB Packer. Hard worker and will get a chance to further develop behind Matthews, Perry and Fackrell. Made the switch from Offense to defense and has limited experience, but showed great production in his 1 year as a starter. Some injury concerns might cause some to pause.

Round 2
Chris Godwin WR Penn State

HT: 6010
WT: 209
40: 4.42
Vert: 36
Broad: 125
Short shuttle: 4.0
3 cone: 7.01
Other options: Jourdan Lewis, Taylor Moton, Tyus Bowser

Value just too good to pass up. Adds some insurance with Nelson, Cobb, Adams all with expiring contracts in either 2017 or 2018.

Round 3
Sidney Jones CB Washington

HT: 5116
WT: 186
40: 4.47
Vert: 33.5
Broad: 123
Short shuttle: 4.28
3 cone: 7.02
Other options: Derek Rivers, Cameron Sutton, Justin Evans

First round talent that falls due to the Achilles injury. GB sees someone that could be a real steal if he can recover. Likely starts the season on PUP and may not provide much in 2017.

Round 4
Jermaine Eluemunor OG Texas AM

HT: 6035
WT: 332
40: 5.22
Other Options: Demarcus Walker, Trey Hendrickson, Isaiah Ford

Competition at OG. Former wrestler that is relatively new to football having grown up in England.

Round 5
Jamaal Williams RB BYU

HT: 6000
WT: 212
40: 4.59
Vert: 30
Broad: 123
Short shuttle: 4.53
3 cone: 7.25

Big RB to complement Monty.

Jeremy Cutrer CB Middle Tennessee State

HT: 6010
WT: 170
40: 4.49

Small school CB that needs a bit of Joe Whitt magic to refine things and some time to fill out his slight frame. Reports from the Pro-day suggest that he was looking bigger than his 170 listed, more like 180.

Round 6
Dylan Donahue EDGE West Georgia

HT: 6025
WT: 248
40: 4.75
Vert: 29.5
Broad: 115
Short shuttle: 4.23
3 cone: 7.01

Round 7
Kenny Allen P Michigan

This ones for you Norm!!!!

Fun Fact: Norm has self-scouted all of the Punters in the 2017 Draft.

It also happens to be the only position he has scouted in the 2017 Draft.

"Why?", you may ask. Because you can't win a Superb Owl with a shankapotamus on the roster.

That's just a fact.

You speak the truth.

On a note on the actual mock. I just can't get behind Watt and I don't know why. I tried hard to like him too

At 6' - 212# I believe Williams would actually be smaller than Montgomery.

You lost me with WR in Round 2.

There will be lots of players with value just too good to pass up when we pick in Round 2. Some of them with equal or better value at a position of greater need.

Can you name a few players that you feel will be there and will provide better need/value during the rookie contract?

I look at this as more than a 1 year need fill.

The WR group is 1-2 years from a potential turnover. I have no idea what the GB plan is for Adams, Nelson, Cobb in that time frame.

During the rookie contract? I never look at an early pick with "rookie contract" highlighted. I also wouldn't expect too much from a rookie WR if I did.
When I check the CB's and OLB's who may be available in this slot I find plenty of value/need. Possibly at Guard also, and I'm concerned about that position.

Thanks for taking time to do a mock. I always appreciate them.

I'd be ecstatic with your 2nd, 3rd and 5th round selections. In the 2nd you give us great value at a position that isn't a necessary at the immediate moment but we can always use upgrade. The other selections are need picks and would offer us immediate impact.

Given the what was available to us during our selection I think I would have taken Jabril Peppers over TJ Watt. I think Watt is gonna be a good player and I truly would love to see him in green and gold. I think Peppers can be the next Woodson for this defense and change our look overnight on that side of the ball. Watt would take some time.
