With less than a month out from draft day I figured I'd drop my mock. This is what I would realistically want, not what I predict the Jets will do. Here we go...

*NY Jets trade pick #6 to the Cleveland Browns for pick #12 and #52
*NY Jets trade Sheldon Richardson to the Oakland Raiders for pick #88

#12 (1st) - David Njoku; TE; Miami - I could see people questioning this selection, but I think he is well worth the 12th pick and could be the BPA at this spot. My first choice here would be Mike Williams but I don't anticipate him making it this far. If Rueben Foster fell to this spot I would strongly consider him over Njoku. As far as David Njoku is concerned, Ebron went 10th overall and was an inferior prospect in my opinion. Taking the tight end from Miami would immediately add a dynamic weapon for the Jets future.

#39 (2nd) - Chidobe Awuzie; CB; Colorado - I anticipate there being a few CBs with first round grades that fall to this spot, allowing the Jets to fill a huge need while sticking to BPA. Awuzie has been extremely productive and versatile throughout his college career. He is a sticky man corner, who has number 1 potential, while also coming in to the league relatively pro ready. I like Kevin King and Cordea Tankersly, but think Awuzie is the much safer pick. The Jets need to find a future starting CB in this draft.

#52 (2nd) - Marcus Williams; S; Utah - Between Budda Baker, Josh Jones, Obi Melifonwu, and Marcus Williams I find it highly likely that at least one of those safeties is available at this selection. Baker and Obi will most likely be gone, leaving Jones and Williams. The Jets go ahead and fill a huge need by finally finding that center field free safety they have needed for years.

#70 (3rd) - Tyus Bowser; Edge; Houston - My favorite developmental edge rusher in the draft. His production doesn't match his athletic ability, but he has all the physical tools you could want. If Bowser doesn't make it this pick I'd be alright with Derek Rivers.

#88 (3rd) - Sidney Jones; CB; Washington
#107 (3rd) - Antonio Garcia; OT; Troy
#150 (5th) - Wayne Gallman; RB; Clemson
#191 (6th) - Sam Rogers; FB; Virginia Tech
#224 (7th) - Jake Elliott; K; Memphis

I'll do write ups for each pick shortly.

I think almost every pick you have after the 1st 2 I think the guy will be off the board before then. So while I'm ok with the draft, just seems unrealistic.

If Mac made this kind of draft picks he be gone before training camp. There would be a uproar by the press & Jet fans.

I respect everyone's attempt at the draft, because we all want the Jets to improve.

So let me disect yours just a little bit, the TE class is deep and you could still find a very good TE in rounds 3-5.
Njoku no doubt is a first round talent, but who else could be there when the Jets draft is the question.

CB is deep as well and you could likewise find a very good corner in rounds 3-5.

I like where your going with the S and CB's and there is definately a need, but the Jets just signed a CB and the need is more along the lines of a safety.

Hooker would be high on my list as well as Meleoufu (I just butchered his name).

Rb should be higher and I would like to see the Jets land Foreman or Mixon in rounds 2-3.

I noticed you didn't have a Center, and it is definately a need for the Jets and I believe they will draft one. Where, who knows?

FB's are not really the rage any more in the NFL, and its been years since the Jets had a viable TE or RB to change the face of the offense.

QB is a major need, as currently we have 2 question marks and a QB who is 2-20 the past 2-3 years as our starter.

Can you say...SCREWED!!!!

So in arguement for a QB right out of college starting immediately for the Jets is not out of the question considering who we have now.

Heck, with some good drafting we could mimic the Cowboys.

I think they're a little off, but not completely unrealistic.

I'm not a huge fan of some of these players, but overall this is a pretty solid draft. The way I see it, we would come out of it with 5 new starters:

David Njoku (TE, no doubt he would be TE1 on this roster)

Chidobe Awuzie (CB1 or CB2 depending on Claiborne's performance and health)

Marcus Williams (FS, and almost guarantees Gilchrist would get cut, which is an added bonus)

Antonio Garcia (OT, maybe not week 1, but with Beachum's health concerns it is likely he would start at some point, hell he may even beat him out)

Sam Rogers (FB, we brought in Zach Line, but never signed him, so we still need a starter there and Rogers is a madman)

Outside of Bowser and Jones (which are best case scenario), I think the rest are extremely realistic.

I think Williams and Garcia were more optimistic than Bowser and Jones to be available.

I'd be cool with this draft. If Howard were available I'd prefer him, but I'm a fan of Njoku as well. Really can't diss any pick, but I agree that some of the guys (specifically Williams and Bowser) are more likely to be off the board before our pick.

If we are going to take a TE in the top half of the first it had better be Howard. Not only because he is a bigger freak than Njoku, but also he is vastly better in the run game. I also don't understand how Njoku is that much better of a prospect than Ebron. They are roughly the same size, Ebron ran a bit faster, Njoku jumped a bit higher. Ebron had more yards and receptions than Njoku, Njoku had more TD's. They both had a frightening 12% drop rate, which was the main thing i didn't like about Ebron coming out, and he is still dropping passes as a pro. I just don't think Njoku warrants that high of a pick, much like I didn't think Ebron did.

I am mostly fine with the rest of the draft.
