Ross Verba has been given official permission to seek a trade.
Has anyone heard anything about a trade?
In the article I read, it said Houston, Chicago and Kansas City might be interested with their needs on the line. |

Nevermind, it looks as though he will get his wish.
After he pays back his recent roster bonus, he will be given his release.
Thanks for the feedback, though. |

| No denying we need O-line help. I don't know much about Verba though, but from what I'm reading there appears to be a common opinion that he is a pain in the [inappropriate/removed]. Is this the case? Or is this just something that has come up recently? |

The problem is, he is an average player who believes he is an elite player and is demanding a contract that would pay him as such.
Although he had two years left on his contract that would pay him $6M total (pretty good contract for an average LT or good OG, which he really is), he was demanding a new contract for 5 years/$38M.
He is also an off-field problem. His house is the scene of many parties, and two separate charges of sexual assault have been filed and dismissed due to incidents there.
Twenty years ago, he would have been the ideal offensive lineman. Party animal with a mean streak. But times have changed, and good character players are the order of the day. |

Well whoever signs him (and he said he LIKES HOUSTON) better be prepared to dig deep. There is a report out there that says he would like to play in either San Diego, Houston, Chicago, Buffalo, Kansas City or San Francicso. But he also stated emphatically, that if an interested team was not offering a long term deal worth 35 million, to not even call his agent.
Reportedly there are 10 teams who have contacted his agent with high interest. Verba was quoted as saying: "$35 million." "If I don't get what I want, I'll walk away from the game and hold my head up high." |

That would be a dumb reason to walk away from the game. _________________

| Hmm, he sounds like a pain in the [inappropriate/removed]. I have mixed feelings on whether or not we really need someone like that on an otherwise classy roster, especially if he isn't a great lineman. |
