Well, he was waived with a failed physical designation. So it appears that the team would have kept him if he was 100%, because if this was just to save money, he would have been waived the first day.

Dion is going to get a shot with another team, we will see if he can pull a career out of it.

Yeah, the reports sounded pretty bad from what I saw. Basically that the guy just couldn't move anymore. Injuries and substance abuse issues killed a promising career.
