Sounding more like he will be "the guy" this year.

I don't have a problem if we don't prioritize RB in the draft, and delay it to 2018. I'd prefer the high picks dedicated to RG/LB/OT/DT/SS anyways

One thing to look at anyway is if he plays well we may not even have to prioritize it heavy in 2018.

I still expect a RB taken, just not sure where. I've had them in mocks I've thrown around from round 2 all the way to round 5. It's a deep class, even in round 6 you could find a "capable" RB that can handle split time with McKinnon if Murray does go down to an injury.

I like CJ Ham, but I just don't see him sticking as our 3rd back on the roster.

Without doing any research, I knew Price had #25.

My guess is he switched back to #39 so Murray could take #25

Cut him some slack...

It's difficult to keep up with the aggressive competition in the uni-number market where Price changes often.

Hopefully it was minor. Guessing it was since he will be able to return by training camp.

Ankle injuries are always bothersome and can linger. He also fractured his ankle back in 2013 in his rookie year.

Makes me guess we will target a RB early when we already have one RB with injuries. Vikings know McKinnon isn't a 3 down back. They can't chance having him go down and depend on practice squad type players to perform as an active RB.

Hopefully ole bob is on a roll with some good luck. A lot of money on the line in the past two days. Sidney Jones, and now Murray.

I was a bit worried, when I first saw him, that he might be injury prone...

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
#Vikings RB Latavius Murray's ankle injury was described as bone spurs. This is why he took visits: Teams could take a first-hand look at it

So, usually if you get bone spurs, it is caused by degenerative arthritis or tendinitis.

Not exactly the greatest sign for a RB. Caused delay in signing, leading to a "prove it" type deal.

RB is for sure not out of the question in round 2 or 3.

Mike Zimmer at Owners Meeting:

"Latavius said it best, he's not going in there to replace Adrian.''

on Latavius not wearing No. 28. "The thing about the jersey I thought was impressive.''

said Latavius Murray ankle surgery was basically a "clean-up deal.'' Said no surgery is minor but not concerned

said he doesn't necessarily know if Latavius Murray is a "three-down back.'' Said none of his comments meant Peterson wasn't.

Latavius Murray has been in attendance at every Organized Team Activity practice this spring, even if the Vikings running back can’t take part in the action. Murray, who signed with the Vikings as a free agent in March, is currently sidelined after having ankle surgery earlier this spring. Still, Vikings Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur said he likes what Murray has brought to the team, especially in the classroom during film work.

Shurmur: “He’s extremely sharp, he’s got good questions. He’s right there with us mentally, he just can’t do it yet physically. We just need to see him get in there and do it and do all the things you need to see a running back do – run the ball, pass protect, and then certainly catch it when you throw it him.”

didn't see this until now. (I like your answer Purplexing haha)

some of the numbers don't update immediately. no amount of research will solve anything when an update isn't available. Laughing

While the Minnesota Vikings finish up their offseason practices next week with a three-day minicamp, veteran running back Latavius Murray is hoping that is the week that he can start running on dry land again. Murray is optimistic that he will be able to participate in some form at the start of training camp, but to date he hasn’t been able to practice with the Vikings. He has been a sideline observer during practices and involved in the meeting rooms. To this point, his rehab has involved an antigravity treadmill and work in a pool.

Murray: “I’ve dealt with this rehab. I’ve dealt with this surgery so I think that’s been a benefit for me because I’m feeling great but I also knew what to expect. The rehab process has been really good. It was nothing I was afraid of, that I would have a setback from. I knew it because I’ve had it before. I knew that when I needed it before, it did nothing but benefit me and made me better. I was just happy I figured out what it was and I could get it fixed.”

“When I was brought into Oakland, I had two guys before me that had made an impact in the league. I’m sure Dalvin looks at his situation the same way for me. What I do know is that the more competition in one room the better off the group can be. We have that right now with bringing Dalvin in and Jet already being there. I think we just need to all get each other better. I think right now is the time to get better for everybody. I think once the season comes around and it’s time for training camp, I think that’s when the real battle will come in, and the preseason games. That’s when everyone’s got to bring their best and separate themselves. I’m going to do everything I can, like I have in the past, to separate myself and I’m sure those guys are going to do the same.”
