Any DB Dallas takes in the first round is a BUST!!!! A wasted pick.

Roy Williams 1st round S BUST- After Woodson retired he was exposed and sucked.

Mike Jenkins 1st round CB BUST- Couldn't stay healthy and didn't play well when he did.

Mo Claiborne 1st round (Plus a trade up) BUST - Again, couldn't stay healthy and last year was his only productive year, hardly worth what we paid for him.

Byron Jones 1st round S -Jury is still out, but when you give 34 yards with the game on the line on 3rd and long in a playoff game at home when your offense just fought alllll the way back to tie it, I'm leaning towards BUST.

You see, without a pass rush, ANYONE you take to help this secondary will BUST.

Just like the offense, you fix the trenches and talented skill position players will shine, even as rookies (see Prescott, Elliott)

You fix our D line and the DB's you draft next year will shine. You go the other way and we will have another BUST.

Honestly guys why waste time posting these mocks with like 10 trade downs giving us 15 picks? It's not realistic. I mean sure it's fun but why post them?

New game, how many trade downs can you do in one draft?

Oh okay. The only time we draft d linemen early is in the 2nd round. And look how that works out.

Show me one time we drafters DB in the first round other than Kevin Smith, that actually worked out?

We get tourched by every decent QB we go against.

Stop throwing crap on the walk and hope for the best.

This game is won in the trenches. We don't have any on defense.

How many INTs do our combined 1st round DBs have and in how many years?

Time to change philosophies.

Forgot about CB Terence Newman in 2003

Not a bad CB for Dallas

AND he is still playing

Football games are won in the trenches...thats why Dallas will draft a DL with its first pick either via a trade up, staying pat or a trade down

The Boys have been beaten by the Pack in the Divisional Round twice now in three years - and why? Because they couldnt get to ARogers - pretty simple fact

Maybe the FO needs to reconsider the Defense and its leader...u simply cant put just anybody on the Dline and rotate them in and out and have success

They say they have tried...but really have they?

Trading up for DLaw really wasnt a good idea at the time and still isnt now

Taking RGregory late in round 2 wasnt a good idea at the time and still isnt now

Giving TCrawford the money he got really wasnt a good idea at the time and still isnt now

Signing GHardy really wasnt a good idea at the time and, well u know

I could go on

It seems like all the success they have had on Offense is just the opposite on Defense

This needs to be a Defensive Draft - the secondary is getten an overhaul and well it should. Hopefully the LBs are set. Dallas just needs that "War Daddy" on the Dline that will help everyone around him at no matter the cost. Otherwise Dallas will see the best years of the Dominate Oline and Dak and Zek spin right by with the same mediocrity Dallas has endured since the late 90's

Peace

I agree, trenches is what wins games. What I disagree about is Byron Jones leaning towards bust. Last season he was one of our best players. INT numbers don't mean a whole lot to me. THey're great but even the best get what, 5 a year? Aaron Rodgers arguably the best QB in the game made an unbelievable play. Let's not throw Byron under the bus for the loss. Many things went wrong that game not just his 1 play.

Again, I do not care what a player does in regular season or how good he looks.

What counts is the signature play, the play that defines WHEN this player stepped up and became the reason you drafted him so high.

99% of the time that signature play happens in the post season.

And when you give up a 34 yard pass play in the fourth quarter of a game at home in the post season, the play that, for all intents and purposes, cost our our season, I'm NOT SOLD ON HIM!

Was Rodgers ridiculous on that play? Absolutely!

But how int he HELL do you let the WR get behind you like that??????

Until I see otherwise, I'm standing my opinion.

You see, many of you will think I am a "hater" or too rigid or even insane and that's ok.

But it is my belief that until you begin holding players to THAT level of accountability, you will always get beat in the end.

If you settle for good play during the regular season, impressive stats, etc but the guy, any guy taken with those expectations CANNOT make that play or stop it from being made, then we will continue to be steeped in mediocrity.

Until then, I'm not sold.
