Have you seen his draft class? He's not even close to the biggest bust in that class, let alone recent memory.

Yikes, it was pretty bad. There were a few solid defensive players taken in the first round but for the most part just terrible.

???

For the Steelers? No, but he wasnt even the biggest bust in his own draft class....probably not even top 5.

Maybe not the biggest bust per se, but biggest disappointment in terms of value. I remember him being hyped up as the steal of the draft in terms of where the Steelers got him.

He lost ALOT of hype after a poor combine and being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Alot of people were divided on him going into the draft. I was thrilled we drafted him...swing and a miss. Crying or Very sad

I was in the same boat. I was so happy they drafted him. Never came close to being the push rusher we had hoped.

He was a telegraphed bust. EDGE guys with his explosion numbers don't succeed.

I knew the numbers were awful but they were even worse than I remembered.

40: 4.88 at proday, likely 5.00 at combine
Vert: 30.5
Broad: 9-3
3-Cone: 4.71 (ouch)
Shuttle: 7.46

The spinal stenosis diagnosis didn't exactly forecast future success either.

I'll be honest though...I thought he was going to be GREAT.

Just a quality All American football player put in Pittsburgh's system with an established culture that brings out the best in edge rushers.

As a Browns fan, I was WORRIED.

Wow is that bad. How do you go in the first round with those numbers. Certainly the Steelers didn't just ignore this and go purely with his tape..?

So the combine IS actually worth something in evaluating prospects?

Of course it is. Edge rushers without at least some degree of athleticism rarely succeed. (Waldo)

Really man? Bengals fan here, and I was pretty "meh" about it. Never seen anyone put up stats like he did (44 TFL, 28 sacks last 2 years?!?) and look so mediocre doing it. It was odd.
