Worry not, 4 years, $20 mil.

That's such a good contract for Harmon, considering most people thought he was gonna peace out like Ryan. I'm surprised no one offered him a bigger contract.

Doesn't make a lot of splash plays and honestly plays a pretty unassuming role in our defense.

Easy to imagine other teams that haven't worked with him in their schemes undervaluing him

Damn, Chandler got 5/82.5. Really dodged a bullet there. This, to me, is a good example of a team focusing too much on sunk costs. With Tony Jefferson and Calais Campbell leaving, I can't help but think if I were Cardinals management, I would rather have had either or both for substantially less than they gave Jones. Jefferson got 5/36 and Campbell 4/60. Or sign Jefferson and pair him with another higher profile FA.

3 years $25.5 mil for Sheard ($12m guaranteed). Definitely more than I would've given him

Bennett signed with the Packers. No word on the numbers yet, but apparently reported as multi-year. Gotta imagine Packers fans are fairly happy with this!

3/18. Damn. Should have given him that over trading for Allen.

Does BB think Bennett would be a problem in the long term? Just speculation there. Not sure why else Allen would be preferable... Eh?

Bet Bennett wishes he would have signed that long term deal which would have given him $7m/yr last year. Guess they don't overpay SB champs Laughing

Sucks, we could've at least matched that deal. Easily.

It is surprising to see him get a comparatively small deal compared to what many thought he would get, especially considering all of the talk about him wanting to get paid etc. There's no doubt we could have afforded this deal.

I understand that everybody has said he liked playing in NE, loved winning etc, but I always got the feeling that he didn't really fit in/wasn't that interested in the team and therefore in sticking around. He is obviously a very individual individual, and I wonder whether the grind-it-out, toe-the-line style just didn't suit him. Either way, a great get for the Packers, and I'm optimistic about us after this offseason so far. Just hurry up and sign Hightower!

So the need a MLB, power running back, and some to replace Chris Longs snaps (by the end of the regular season he has was still playing 60% of snaps), if Ealy takes Sheard's role.

I would bet on both Hightower and Blount returning.

So re-sign Hightower, sign Barwin (or similar) and perhaps extend Butler.

That leaves the draft to get a RB (good year for it), a kick returner and development players for both lines.

Reiss thinks they were ready to move on from Bennett regardless. Another thing to consider is Allen's remaining years are totally non-guaranteed whereas Bennett probably ends up with half of his $$ guaranteed.

Definitely a great year to need a running back, mid to late rounds are chock full of good value bets. I'm a huge fan of Kareem Hunt, Joe Mixon will be around if they're willing to take the plunge there. Elijah McGuire in the later rounds if they want to wait.
