Per Jeff Darlington
Consolation prize for losing Sims.
Played 533 snaps for the Titans last year, primarily as a blocking TE.
Graded at 76.5 by PFF.
Average only 20.5 receptions per year over the past 4 years after leaving Miami, but he's being brought in to block primarily.
Fasano was on the Dolphins during Tannehill's rookie year. _________________

Per PFF, Fasano was the highest-graded run blocking player who isn't an OL. _________________

To expand on this, Fasano's snap breakdown:
337 run blocking snaps (out of 427 total run attempts, #1 run blocking grade for TEs)
196 passing snaps (14 targets, #3 pass blocking grade for TEs)
Fasano also caught Tannehill's first career TD. _________________

I wasn't big on this signing at first but after an hour or two it's growing on me.
Bottom line is we want to be a classic running team that uses the run to create the pass, and our OTs can use all the help they can get in run blocking. |

I really like this deal, Fasano is a guy that prides himself on his blocking ability. Without a Fullback on the roster, Fasano can be used as the lead back in power run situations.
He also has some wiggle in the passing game. Even though the Titans didn't really use him, he has good hands. He can at the least sit down in the zone in front of a LB and won't be worried about taking a shot to come down with the ball. |

happy with this, especially after the money that Sims got (6m per, 10 guaranteed)
We still have Gray and we now have Thomas. One more (or Duarte grows a pair) and we're set _________________ Belfast Trojans #32 Shamrock Bowl winner '12, '13, '14 and '15

Can't knock this sign. He blocks well and can sneak in for some Red Zone help from time to time. Fasano is OK in my book and I feel Gase has a plan set aside for him. _________________ Adopt a Dolphin 2016 DP11

Dion Sims is a good blocker but Anthony Fasano is a better blocker. The Dolphins will now go to a lot of 12 personal 2 TE's set with Fasano inline and Thomas split out. |
