My original guess was 4 years, $34m ($14m guaranteed), but I thought another team would be writing the check.

Let's see how the actual numbers look.

His agent confirmed what other teams were willing to pay, and then the Dolphins matched it. This is a good resigning.

Stills still hasn't signed, which is telling me that he either doesn't want to return, or some team is willing to overpay him to the point that he can't walk away from the deal.

Right before Branch was announced he tweeted an "eyeballs" emoji.

Minutes ago, Stills sent out a nearly identical tweet, two "eyeballs" emojis. My brain searching for some logic tells me that Stills is subtly announcing "part two", i.e. another resigning.

We'll probably know before the end of the day.

I'm fine with this. Seems like a smart move.

Nice job by our FO bringing back a competitive player at a reasonable salary ( depending on guarantees). Hoping we see something similar with Stills. Then let's see some OG and LB action.

That is a bit more than I thought Branch would get, but he really was a solid player last year and the team would have been in a world of hurt if he left. I'm hoping the structure makes it more or less a 2 year deal, so that Branch can't get complacent.

Feels good to see us adding to last year's roster rather than replacing what we've lost. Feels different. Feels niiiice.

The numbers originally reported were wrong.

3 years, $17.1m, +$6m signing bonus

cap hits
2017: $4.9m
2018: $9.9m
2019: $8.9m

Per @AaronWilson_NFL

First 2 years guaranteed? If so, that's a MUCH better deal than originally reported.

Still not sure what's guaranteed. Of course, the $6m signing bonus is fully guaranteed, so if he were hypothetically cut after 2018 his dead cap charge in 2019 would be at least $2m.
