Reading D.Poe will be released. Good. Can't afford Berry and Poe. Poe signing with another team should net KC a comp. pick.

No need to release him as the contract expired. And the Chiefs will receive a comp pick only if they don't sign any comp pick relevant free agent.
OK, so he's a UFA. I'm just glad we're not throwing good money after him.
I also hope we don't sign an FA to replace him. Again, why throw good money after bad. (I pretty much despise FA's as it's simply a chase for some bucks). This draft is loaded with Dline talent.

Depends, if the player matches the scheme I don't mind FA's. Maclin and Schwartz were both good pickups.

Green Bay has avoided FA for years, and I'll just say it's a good thing they have a QB that can cover up holes in the roster.

That said, I don't want to tag Poe. If he wants to sign for 5-7 Mil I'm good with that, if not, I have no problems moving on from him.

Schwartz yes. We got him in his prime. This is rather unusual. Maclin, nope. That's all i'll say about Maclin as I've made my feelings clear here.

Maclin was terrific last year, and was hurt this year. Let's see what he does next year. If he flops bad pick up, but I think he has a solid year

What I like having Maclin for is he teaches the young guys how to be pros. That was never gonna happen with Bowe running the show.

Didn't expect this to turn into a Maclin thread.

I'm thinking D.Poe may shop himself around with the intent to come back to KC for a cheaper contract expectation. Whether or not KC should even sign him based on last season's accomplishments is another story.

He's gone I'm sure a team will overpay him. Players that size with that type of athletic ability don't grow on trees. Glad we got Berry locked up though.

JMac was absolutely a solid pickup, just banged up this year.

Agree with Diesel, some team will break the bank for him. With how he seems to be breaking down i just dont see us even trying hard to get him.

#Chiefs officially decline to use the franchise tag on Dontari Poe.

That's one way to say it ... time expired would be another ...

I'll say Poe goes to the Niners, Colts,Ravens.. That's ok I personally wouldn't mind going hard Defense in draft. CB first round, DL,DL,MLB,OLB. Even trading up I'm happy. Poe is a beast to be honest. You won't find a player with his size ad sped in this draft but you will find someone close to it. His back is huge concern to me... Great guy to have in locker room though keeps it lose yet intense.d
