Extend Stafford !
Resign:
Reiff
-- Sportrac says his market value is 4yrs/21mill.. I think I'd do that. Solid, versatile tackle that could get better. A known commodity compared to a FA, which often don't work out.
Boldin
-- Only cheap veteran depth. Maybe TE depth, too? I imagine he can block better than Ebron, right?
Roberts
-- Solid returner and depth WR.
Sign:
Calais Campbell DT (2 year deal, 11mill avg)
-- Change it up a bit from Fairley, maybe. Good production and only a year older than Fairley. Calais and Arob could create quite a disruption with those hands up.. Could maybe run more 3-4 looks with Ngata, Calais and all these LBs.
Marcus Cooper CB (3 year deal, 4.5 avg)
-- Played solid as #2 in ARI last year. Good size, speed and leaping ability.
Gerald Hodges ILB (3 year deal, 4.3 avg)
-- Solid ILB for SF against run & pass.
Jason Jones DE (2 year, 800k avg)
--Cheap, experienced DE that fits our system for closed DE spot.
Patrick Omameh OG (2 year, 3mill)
--Some starting experience with good results, per PFF.
Anthony Fasano TE(1 year, 1mill)
--Veteran blocking TE for cheapp. Mentor Ebron maybe?
Trade:
D. Washington, and Burton? for 3rd round pick 2017(1-15)
--Simplify this a bit, maybe throw in a pick if needed.
Tahir Whitehead & 3rd round pick 2018 for 2nd round pick 2017(1-15)
--Running out of room in the lb corp, and some cash savings.
Draft:
1: Takkarist McKinley DE UCLA 6'2" 265lb
-- Really want Derek Barnett here, but went with the more realistic pass rusher.. Productive, raw pass rusher with a high motor. With some coaching could be pretty damn good.
2: Juju Smith-Schuster WR USC 6'2" 220lb
-- Big, physical WR in the mold of Boldin and Dez. Detroit riots?
2: TJ Watt LB Wisconsin 6'5" 243lb
-- Moar D playmakers. Maybe a little late for Watt in the 2nd, but he is kind of a tweener, could fall a bit. Similiar story to the NFL as his brother, JJ, he's raw with a lot of potential. Atleast be a part-time pass rusher to start.
3: Samaje Perine RB Oklahoma
-- Bruising back that doesn't go down from first contact. Should complete our rotation and/or be our RB of the future.
3: Obi Melifonwu SS Connecticut 6'4" 219lb
--Big n fast. This guy should blowup the combine and go up some boards. Our Cam Chancellor?
4: Jayon Brown LB UCLA 6'0" 230lb
-- Coverage LB
5: Jeremy Sprinkle TE Arkansas 6'5" 256lb
-- Two-way TE to go with our Ebron. Good blocker.
6: Ben Boulware ILB Clemson 6'0" 236lb
-- Undersized, hardworking linebacker that had a big game against 'bama. Good instincts & special team ability. Second coming of Spielman?
6: Caleb Peterson OG North Carolina
-- Developmental guard
7: DeAngelo Brown DT Louisville 6'1" 317lb
-- Put up 40 reps of 225lb in college ! Bonafide run stopper with pocket pushing potential?
UDFA: Barry J. Sanders RB Oklahoma
Roster:
QB: Stafford, Rudock
RB: Abdullah, Perine, Riddick, Zenner
FB: n/a
WR: Jones, Tate, Smith-Schuster, Boldin, Roberts
TE: Ebron, Fasano, Sprinkle
LT: Decker, Reynolds
LG: Glasgow, Dahl, Peterson
C: Swanson
RG: Omameh, Tomlinson
RT: Reiff, Robinson
DE: Ansah, McKinley, Hyder, Jones, Zettel
DT: Robinson, Campbell, Ngata, Brown, Thornton
OLB: Levy, Watt, A. Williams, Bynes
MLB: Hodges, Brown, Boulware
CB: Slay, Coope, Diggs, Lawson, Bademosi
S: Quinn, Wilson, Killebrew, Melifonwu, Carey
LS: LANDES
K: Prater
P: #1 Lions Punter evar!
Imagine our red zone offense with Perine, Smith-Schuster & Sprinkle, along with everyone else ! |

No one is going to trade a 3rd for Washington and Burton. Trading Whitehead and a 3rd for a 2nd would be a bad idea. There's no way Calias Campbell signs for that cheap. I like some of the draft picks, but not many of them are very good fits. _________________

You lost me at Boldin as a TE, that is a red flag that screams "this person doesn't know what they're talking about" _________________
