Hello, this will be the final full offseason mock draft I do this year and rather than waiting until it was over to post the results like last time, I thought I'd start from the beginning with this one in the hopes of getting you guys involved from the start.

If anyone is interested in GMing the Giants, I'd be more than happy to help make that happen. Its a bit different the most of the mocks in the forum as there isn't a tier system for free agency or a shark tank. You have the ability to put your money on any available UFA.

Here are some important links pertaining to the mock draft.

Discussion Thread

League Office thread

This thread is still under construction but a list of free agency information, guidelines and other various docs are available.

Official Team Roster

I could really use the help with scouting the draft players, doing these mocks I haven't had the time.

Official Start date for this mock draft is Feb. 19th and the Draft starts the day after the combine ends, March 7th.

Current available cap: $24,095,986

Transactions

ERFA

2310 - Will Tye - TE

Pending extension of a new contract on a 4 year deal worth, Total Base $27,000,000 + bonus $37,000,000 =$64,000,000

Restructured
0818 - Eli Manning - QB

Released
1839 - Rashad Jennings - RB
2270 - Victor Cruz - WR

June 1st

Traded
0524 - Curtis Grant - ILB to OAK for 0181 - Ben Heeney - ILB

For this mock draft, Jennings and Cruz are still on the roster, was gonna follow suit and do the same with releasing Jennings and June 1st Cruz.

These two moves pushes our salary cap from $21,217,186 to $30,287,186

Also another huge savings would be to restructure Eli Mannings contract.

Taking this years cap hit from $19,700,000 to $11,700,000 and pushing roughly 4 million to the 2018 year.

Thoughts?

I'm not so sure about the pay cut for Eli, if Tannehill is making 19+ this year, I don't believe that Eli will restructure to make less than Ryan Tannehill lol

Its not a pay cut its a restructure of his current contract. Just pushing base salary into bonus money, the total dollar doesn't change.

I like it, I started a thread that brought this Eli pay cut topic into the light

What about our erfa and rfa guys?

also, franchise tag?

In the last mock I did JPP got a lot of attention in the fa and probably a little lucky I was able to retain him.

Don't feel so lucky this time around, thinking about tagging him.

Any thoughts on this information?

Bring back Tye, Robert Thomas as EFA.

Don't tag JPP or Hankins, too expensive.

we can still work out a long term deal after the tag.

Mock draft starts tomorrow, as mentioned I could use a co-GM and some knowledgeable scouts, if anyone is interested let me know, I'd like to operate the Giants as a group if possible.

ERFA
0178 - Ben Edwards - WR
1597 - Matt LaCosse - TE
1747 - Nikita Whitlock - RB
1892 - Robert Thomas - 43DT
2310 - Will Tye - TE

For me, Robert Thomas and Will Tye would be the only ones I'd look to retain, thoughts?

RFA
1377 - Kerry Wynn - 43DE
1763 - Orleans Darkwa - RB

For RFA Kerry Wynn, any suggestions on the tender type?

UFA
1054 - Jason Pierre-Paul - 43DE
1173 - Johnathan Hankins - 43DT
1334 - Keenan Robinson - 43OLB
1558 - Mark Herzlich - 43OLB
0515 - Coty Sensabaugh - CB
1475 - Leon Hall - CB
2197 - Trevin Wade - CB
1349 - Kelvin Sheppard - ILB
1877 - Robbie Gould - K
2350 - Zak DeOssie - LS
2311 - William Beatty - LT
1244 - Josh Johnson - QB
1950 - Ryan Nassib - QB
0211 - Bobby Rainey - RB
1163 - John Jerry - RG
1576 - Marshall Newhouse - RT
1454 - Larry Donnell - TE

I don't want to name who I'll be targeting in the UFA or attempting to resign, but is there anyone that you'd recommend?

Free Agent Signings
1458 - Latavius Murray - RB | 4 year contract, $4,925,000 APY, $8,000,000 SB
Really felt that the Giants needed a bigger body at this position, someone to get us back to our roots of being able to pound the rush. Murray was slowed by injury last season but still managed to get 12 TDs on a 195 attempts.

1871 - Riley Reiff - RT | 4 year contract, $11,475,000 APY, $26,000,000 SB
Signed Reiff to man the left tackle position allowing Flowers to move to the right side where I think his value would increase. Reiff is by trade a right tackle but this year, he is hitting the market to play LT. Very good player that I believe can easily make the switch to left tackle. From everything Ive read the draft is thin at left tackle and the free agency is even thinner. So I was happy to land him.

1334 - Keenan Robinson - 43OLB | 2 year contract, $2,050,000 APY, $1,900,000 SB
Ended up bringing back Robinson to play ILB and to push second year B.J. Goodson.

1083 - Jelani Jenkins - 43OLB | 4 year contract, $3,954,200 APY, $7,000,000 SB
I felt pretty comfortable with our starts on the outside, but wanted to give the Giants a bit more value depth wise and Jenkins provides that.

2350 - Zak DeOssie - LS | 1 year contract, $1,020,000 APY, $120,000 SB
Resigned DeOssie to a one year deal on a fairly cheap contract.

2527 - Arrelious Benn - WR | 2 year contract, $1,057,500 APY, $300,000 SB
Not a big name signing but gives the Giants depth to a thin position.

1057 - Jason Witten - TE | 1 year contract, $7,300,000 APY, $2,000,000 SB
Personally, I love this signing, Witten is obviously ageing but I certainly believe hes got another year to give Eli the underneath target and a quality blocker, perhaps this is the year he gets his ring.

0419 - Chris Jones - 34DE | 3 year contract, $6,766,667 APY, $6,400,000 SB
I missed out on bringing back Hankins and tried to acquire Kawann Short, but was outbid by several million. Chris Jones isnt too far removed from playing quality football when in NE. So Im hoping with a new system outside of SF he could fill part of Hankins shoe. I also brought in Will Sutton from Chicago, Ill continue to look for a better suited DT either through trade or the draft.

1163 - John Jerry - RG | 1 year contract, $1,669,815 APY, $0,000 SB
Simply adding bodies to the roster to compete at training camp.

0515 - Coty Sensabaugh - CB | 3 year contract, $1,390,000 APY, $1,800,000 SB
Depth, felt he played well enough to get resigned.

1727 - Nick Bellore - ILB | 2 year contract, $1,057,500 APY, $300,000 SB
Depth to compete during training camp.

1660 - Mike Adams - RT | 1 year contract, $775,000 APY, $0,000 SB
Swing tackle, that can really do it all, just not great at anything.

1948 - Ryan Mallett - QB | 2 year contract, $895,000 APY, $0,000 SB
Camp body that will compete with Nassib to back up Eli

1950 - Ryan Nassib - QB | 2 year contract, $1,100,000 APY, $400,000 SB
Hes obviously not a franchise qb but he does know the system, I will be looking for Elis replacement in the draft this year, but its not a must so I wont reach for a QB.

Still a lot of free agency rounds to go but the talent is thinning quite rapidly, I'll continue to add depth to each position as with this mock draft we must have at min a 75 man roster and max 90 man.

There are 12 free agency rounds and we will find out the results of the 5th tonight.

Draft starts on March 7th, so if anyone is interested in helping me scout please let me know.
