Chargers just hired Richard Smith as our LB coach. Just based off of the history, I love this move. Any Falcons fans have anything to add about him. Doesn't seem like a bad coach, just not a great playcaller?

Thats exactly what i think about him he has never really had a great season while as a DC numbers wise really

2005 Dolphins - 18th in ypg 15th in ppg

2006 texans - 26th in ypg 25th in ppg

2007 Texans - 24th in ypg 22nd in ppg

2008 Texans - 22nd in ypg 27th in ppg

2015 Falcons - 17th in ypg 14th in ppg

2016 Falcons - 28.3 PPG under Smith (1st 10 games) Ranked 30th

19.8 PPG under Quinn (Last 9 games including playoffs) Ranked 9th

Quinn took play calling duties away from him after the bye and the defense improved tremendously.

Now with that said where as he might now have been a great coordinator for the teams he has been one on. The players he coaches speak tremendously about him and credit him for teaching them how to reach their potential. So i personally think as a LB coach he is a great pickup for yall but he shouldn't be doing any more play calling or be a DC anymore.
