I will not put in details all the moves i think they will make but we're gonna have around 45 millions in cap space. I don't think Okung will be back.
Resigns
- All of our ERFA will stay here
- Vance Walker 2 years 3,5M
Walker is a good veteran to have and will resign cheap because he didn't played this year.
FREE AGENCY
Cordarrelle Patterson WR
3 years 15M
We would finally have a good returner and can be our #3 WR.
Luke Willson TE

2 years 7M
I don't think the Seahawks will resign him. He could be a surprise here and be a good TE. Can block and catch.
Andrew Whitworth LT
2 years 24M
He gotta be our priority. I know he's 35 but he is elite. Would help our young players too.
Calais Campbell DE
3 years 30M
I would love to get him. He's from Denver too and would really helped us in the run D.
DRAFT
1st round
Forrest Lamp
Depends on his combine and pro day, i think Lamb will be a riser. He will go in the 1st round. We can start him in RT right away.
2nd round
Christian McCaffrey
I would be very happy to have him. Will be a good 3rd down back and a threat in the pass.
TRADES!
Broncos trades their two 3rd rounds and a 6th to move up to be back in the 2nd round.
2nd round
Carlos Watkins

Would be our starter at NT.
3rd round
Raekwon McMillan
Will compete to be our 2nd ILB and can win it.

I'd be happy with this offseason.
Lamps one of my favorite players. I too think he could play OT in the league and if he can't he'll be a hell of a guard.
McCaffery would be insane if he lasted that long. I'd scoop him up in a second, I think he goes higher though. Utilizing the RB in a variety of ways is catching on more and more with teams. |

Didn't even think of the Patterson signing...that would be awesome. And, everyone once in awhile he seems to have a good game as a WR...like one game per year he seems to go off. _________________ Ninja stealth muggers in the Bellagio has left me in a state of congitive disonance... |

This would be great but there is zero chance we get all these guys.
1. Calais Campbell is likely getting at least 14-15m a year. As the best 3-4 DE and a true impact player even at his age he won't go that cheaply. That means we don't get Patterson or Willson. I'd pass on Willson
2. Mccaffrey won't last beyond pick 35 IMO. Jax doesn't take Cook rd 1 they take his lite version rd 2. If someone else doesn't get him at the end of rd 1. Someone will love him that much.
The rest I can certainly endorse, but I'd point out McMillan is a 2-down ILB. I'd suggest we get RB rd 4 comp, take Butt Rd 3 comp and without McCaffrey available, if ILB Jarrad Davis is there at 2.50 I'm all over that. Davis a better LB than McMillan and McCaffrey won't be there for us at 2.50, then instead of Willson (who saves us the $ to get Campbell at the true market price) we get a much better long term TE in Butt. _________________

Would love FA. I wouldn't mind Lamp at all in the first, think you're right that's where he'll end up. No way C-Mac falls taht far but that'd be sick. Like the idea of plugging in a NT early, and McMillan could turn out to be great value off a down year.
Luke Willson will be a sneaky good signing for whoever gets him. No secret Bevell has no clue how to properly utilize the TE position. Willson makes plays every time he's given the opportunity in the pass game. |

I like it but it seems overly optimistic. As Broncofan pointed out, Campbell will cost 14-15M per season and McCaffery wont be there at 50. I also don't trust Patterson as a WR, even a #3. He is still a gadget guy to me and that isn't worth 5M per.
Love the Lamp pick. He is going to be excellent and IMO has OT potential. I can see him becoming an All Pro LG though.
Luke Wilson is a nice sneaky signing, but it would only work if we cut Virgil Green IMO. I don't want 7M combined going to two TE's that dont really move the needle. Its one-or-the-other to me. |

Personally, I'd take Butt at Rd 3 comp, and skip Willson. Cheaper, controlled for longer, and much higher ceiling.
Re: Patterson, I envision him as an outside WR who makes D's respect the deep game and a threat on bubble screens/reverses like Tyreek Hill, and a ST weapon. The beauty of this type of signing is that on 3rd down, we move Sanders (or DT) to the slot, where he can dominate, and have Patterson out wide. Patterson & DT on the same side stacked also presents real issues for the D. If we can't get a chain-mover 3rd WR, this type of move where it really upgrades ST and gives us a HR threat, as long as it's cheap, I'm all for. 5M is the most I'd pay, however, given the limited skill set - as you said, Patterson isn't a typical #3 WR we'd be looking for, but given our ST needs as well, I could see it work. _________________

Patterson isn't a downfield threat though. He cant separate once guys get their hands on him in press. He is fully a bubble screen and gadget play WR. I mean, he averaged 8.7 YPC last season. That's terrible for a guy that supposedly is a big play threat. He simply doesn't catch passes deep.
If we want a cheap deep threat who lets us move Sanders into the slot, Markus Wheaton is the guy. Injured all season and was coming into his own in 2015/16 where he got 17 YPC on 50+ receptions.
Overall though, I think you keep Manny outside. He is a better deep threat than anyone we are going to realistically sing. |

Also (this option was brought up on another Bronco site), what about Kendall Wright of the Titans for #3 WR? They said that he was miscast in Tennessee as an outside WR. |

Re: Patterson, I get he doesn't have the deep ball record - but I do wonder if that's more a function of the MIN O he plays under and what he's asked to do. But fair enough on the concern.
Wright is definitely a great #3 WR signing. But might be a stretch to get him at 5M a year. Who knows, though, once the top shelf guys go, the middle to low tier guys don't get nearly as much of a bump in $ unless they sign really early in FA. _________________

Ya, there is quite a good crop of middle tier WR's this offseason and while the top guys get huge deals, there is generally a tremendous drop off between that and the guys that don't sign right away.
Pryor, Alshon, DeShaun and Garcon will probably get sizable deals. I think Kenny Stills gets a surprisingly big deal, possibly bigger than Garcon. But guys like LaFell, Kerley, Kendall, Woods, Terrance, Wheaton and Aiken may slip through the cracks. At least one of those guys will come cheap. Then there are guys like Aldrick Robinson Andre Holmes that may be vet min options.
This is another thing that gets me to consider McCaffery. He legitimately would provide a #3 WR and return specialist, filling two holes. And thats before you take into account that he would be a 10-12 carry a game guy too. Its like drafting 2-3 players in one. |

I would love Kendall Wright or Kamar Aiken. They're the perfect #3 on this team. I especially like Aiken because he's shown himself capable of handling larger workloads when needed in Baltimore. Wright is a little bit of a headcase but he got a raw deal in Tennessee.
For what Denver needs on the WR side, there's a lot of good options in this FA class. _________________

I would love to get Lamp and McCaffrey. But as others have said McCaffrey won't be available at our 2nd. I would be for trading up to get him. We've got the extra picks this year so it would be worth it. Honestly though I'd think we'd have to get in front of the Pats to get him. |
