Also saw a trick on-side kick in the CA state HS championship game. Instead of overloading one side of the field for the onside kick they spread guys way apart all across the kickoff line. Just before the kicker approached the ball they all ran to the center of the field on either side of the ball and then the kicker kicked it. Defense was scrambling like crazy to get guys to the middle ... except one of the guys on the kickoff team that was spread out very wide did not actually come to the middle. He stayed over by the sideline maybe lost with all of his teammates off the field just behind him. Kicker went that way and it was an easy recovery. With the right bounce the guy might have caught it on the run and gone all the way with it.

Can you actually advance the ball on a kick recovery? The returning team can, but the kicking, I doubt it.

No, the kicking team can't advance on the recovery. But on Madden a few times I would squib kick it and some how recover it in the end zone Laughing.

Isn't a kickoff a live ball? I mean after it goes ten yards can't either team recover it and advance it? If not, I didn't know that. Nice play for the team I watched anyway. They recovered it without a receiving team guy anywhere near the ball.

Ahh, just read the rule. Kicking team cannot advance the ball unless it is touched by the receiving team. I was pretty sure I'd seen an onside kick advanced but I do think it was after the receiving team muffed their chance to recover it.

Yeah... personally, I'd just kick a hard line drive straight at one player and catch the rebound off his body and run it back. Or you can just use the strategy you mentioned yesterday, get your one on one, or better yet if you can somehow get a lone receiver, and just kick it more than just 10 yards. Kick it 30 or 40 yards, let your guy outrun the other and recover it with good field position.

So maybe I'm late to the party, but I just realized where Chad Johnson got "Child Please" from; O.P.P. - Nauty by Nature. Man that is a revelation.

So far every favorite in the playoffs has not only won, but covered their spread. I think the streak ends today.

What a disappointment after watching the last game. Guess we're just watching who has the privilege of losing to NE anyways as I can't see either one of these teams having a chance barring a miracle.

The NFCCG is going to be a slugfest, though. I kept thinking about it all evening. Can the Falcons' D stop Aaron Rodgers? No. Can the Packers' D stop Matt Ryan? No. It might actually come down to offensive mistakes. A tipped ball that gets intercepted, then taken advantage of by the opposing offense. Should be thrilling.

I'm not into tennis by any stretch but this Aussie Open Finals matchups with Venus vs Serena and Nadal vs Federer is incredibly enticing. 4 of the sports best ever all competing against their rival for likely the last time. nostalgic
