Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has won a Super Bowl, been to another and compiled 101 regular-season wins in 10 years, but he has failed to impress one of the great players in franchise history. Hall of Fame Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw said on FOX Sports 1 that he doesn’t think much of Tomlin as a coach.

Bradshaw: “I don’t think he’s a great coach at all. He’s a nice coach. To me, and I’ve said this, he’s really a great cheerleader guy. I don’t know what he does. But I don’t think that he’s a great coach at all. His name never even pops in my mind when we think about great coaches in the NFL.”

All fair criticism of Tomlin. What has he done without a team assembled by Cowher, or a defense without LeBeau?

Seems like another Gruden situation.

with Marcus Mariota out with a broken leg, the Titans will be starting Matt Cassel for their last game.

It's only fair to a certain degree. Cowher hasn't been there in a decade, and he didn't assemble the team. That's Kevin Colbert, who's been in control of the football operations since 2000.

Also, Lebeau hasn't been there in 2 years now and at least statistically, they have a better defense now than they did during Lebeau's last 3 seasons (2012-14).

While I don't think Tomlin is ever going to be considered one of the all-time great coaches, nor is he an Xs and Os genius like Belichick, he's a good leader and in the end, you can't argue with the fact that he's been there 10 years and has never had a below .500 season, which you can't say about Cowher.

And really, Bradshaw, of anyone should understand what it's like, all you have to do is take his entire quote and swap out coach with QB, and there's your description of Bradshaw's NFL career.

I'm pleased for him. I wish he had been able to stick with the Vikings, but it's good for him and his family.

Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph is one of a handful of candidates to replace Gary Kubiak as head coach of the Broncos. If Joseph gets the job, Kubiak won’t be the only big-name coach leaving the team. Alex Marvez of SportingNews.com reports that Joseph would promote defensive backs coach Joe Woods to the position of defensive coordinator. This means that defensive coordinator Wade Phillips would not be returning.

How does Joe Woods even have a job in the league, let alone possibly being promoted to DC? Apparently, he's the modern version of Richard Solomon.

There was plenty of criticism directed at the Eagles receiving corps over the course of the regular season and it appears those shortcomings have contributed to the dismissal of the position coach.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that the Eagles have fired Greg Lewis. Lewis joined the coaching staff after Doug Pederson was hired as the head coach last year.

Todd Downing has now been hired as Raiders OC after the departure of Bill Musgrave.

We all remember Musgrave, but Downing was born in Eden Prairie, when to the U of Minnesota, and was Minnesota Vikings Football Systems Analyst Coach from 2003-2004 and Offensive Quality Control Coach in 2005.

I don't understand/agree with that at all. Doesn't seem like a good move for a first time HC...

I think it will turn out to much like Zimmer is doing here. Joseph most likely wants to run his defense. Not really all that shocking.

do you mean Joseph will be like Zimmer, and Woods will be like Edwards?

Has he earned that right though? He was only a DC for one year.

Mike Tomlin left us after just one year and now is known as one of the best coaches in the league.
