If the Rams can land Sean Payton I think they will actually turn things around. Of course the whole thing rest on the shoulders and arm of Jared Goff. I still think Goff can be a very good QB. Rams need to get some o-lineman and a legit WR. Britt is ok as a #2 and Tavon Austin is a decent slot guy. THey need a true #1 though. Anyhow. screw the Rams! GO COWBOYS!

Can we officially put Rex Ryan in the Wade Phillips category?

Anthony Lynn named Interim HC in Buffalo, btw.

I predict, Mike McCoy is the next to fall.

Agree. Rex will make a great DC somewhere for sure. What 3-4 team needs a DC right now he'd be a good fit with?

Rams are now making former Washington OC Sean McVay the youngest HC in NFL history, per source. McVay turns 31 years old on Jan. 24.

Sounds like Wade Phillips is a good bet to follow him as DC. Obviously a good DC, but that team is built for 4-3. They'll have some tweaking to do.

Wade didn't run a strict 3-4 while he was here, IIRC. I'm sure he'll get the most out of the talent there if he does indeed become DC.

Sean McVay to the Rams - that's a huge bet on an unproven guy, but I like it.

So just two jobs left: 49ers who will probably take a Patriot Coordinator and the Chargers.

Well the Chargers can probably borrow the middle school coach of the stadium they're going to call home. I'm sure Spanos can make it happen.

EDIT:

Guess they went a different route...

Chargers will hire Anthony Lynn as their next head coach. was at one point front runner for Bills job. Head to LA with the team

I would still love to know how or why this guy became such a hot commodity. He interviewed everywhere.

As wrong as it is, a lot of talented guys get asked in just to fulfill the "Rooney Rule". Which is asinine.

With Anthony Lynn named as the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, that brings the number of former assistants under Bill Parcells in 2005 with the Cowboys to eight who went on to become head coaches in college or the NFL. The others: Sean Payton, Tony Sparano, Todd Haley, Todd Bowles, Mike Zimmer, Paul Pasqualoni and Mike McIntyre.

That is amazing.

Surprised they waited this long.

Pat McAfee is a riot btw. Great fellow on Twitter.

Kind of late in the game for this, no?
