Schefter reporting Tom Coughlin will be a VP of football operations and Doug Marrone will be the new head coach of the Jags. The Bill Parcells tree is firmly planted in Jacksonville. Wow.

Mike Smith remains a Buc for at least another day. Very Happy

I think if San Diego doesn't hire him then we're in the clear. Jacksonville and San Diego were really the only places I can see him going.

Glad Smith is still a Buc! Though I know he wants another HC gig. If we can keep him just one more year I think that would really be beneficial.

Side note, how about Jax now. Wonder how those fans are feeling about the hires.. Time will tell.

Bucs rookie DE Noah Spence is having surgery today to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. @JennaLaineESPN reported first.

Not surprising. Hoping for a smooth rehab for Spence.

Spence's labrum was fully torn, according to ESPN Bucs reporter Jenna Laine. Spence originally injured the shoulder in early October but continued to play through it.

Beast! Expecting double digits next year.

I'm told Anthony Lynn is "currently scheduled" for 2nd interviews with the #Chargers & #Rams this week, per sources.

Well, one small step closer to Mike Smith not leaving Tampa. In a little over a week, Senior Bowl week begins. I expect most of the coaching vacancies filled by the 21st.

Glad the game is over. I'm sure Smith got a pretty good raise and maybe a title addition of Assistant Head Coach. Can't blame him for withdrawing his name in Los Angeles, that is going to be a very tough job to be successful in the short-term. Two years playing in a soccer stadium and who knows where the teams' training facility will be located.

I'm sure the backlash from leaving helped his decision. Laughing

Read pewter reports fab 5 this morning. Apparently the only reason marrone was hired over smith was bc he believe in Blake Bortles and Smith did not lol.

As a Bortles dynasty owner and Smith to Bucs supporter I fully appreciate this lol.

All in all it is very nice to have the one thing Bucs players have missed over the past decade which is continuity in the coaching staff. This defense was just hitting it's stride and they faced losing it's architect right after it's first year. Good things ahead!

Smith is a smart man. Lol.

Pretty happy he's back. Even if he leaves for a HC gig next offseason, having some continuity for an offseason or so to really help these guys master the system will be huge! Really excited for the D next year. Simply more time with the system and getting better should improve us. We will get Jack Smith back and probably some more talent in FA and the draft. It can only help!

This is more of a rumor than news, but Glennon is reportedly pretty high on the Jets' list in terms of FAs. Hopefully he can get a contract that nets us a third round comp pick.
