If this has been posted before I apologize, but I am trying to get a fan base opinion of the team needs.

Just the top 3 or 4.

Thanks.

1 - Improve running game.
2 - Generate more inside pressure
3 - Improve pass protection.
4t - Improve at nickel CB.
4t - Depth at S.

And above all: GET HEALTHIER.

1) BPA along the OL
2) CB - outside or nickel. Personally, I'd rather get an outside CB and let Shead play nickel
3) Depth at safety (Budda would be great as he could play nickel for us and also be groomed at FS)

I see Seattle easily taking Obi Melifonwu in the 1st.

He's a big time replacement for Chancellor who I think they let walk to shore up money elsewhere. Chancellor did the holdout BS, will be 30 after this upcoming season, and is starting to show some wear and tear which is expected given how rough he plays.

Meli is a little rough around the edges but has all the athleticism that Chancellor had. Drafting him and letting him see limited action in 2017 and allowing him to work on some of those mechanics will be perfect come the 2018 season. Chancellor will likely command $10M per year (and someone will pay it) so saving $7M+ by getting Obi as a rook would be ideal.

Seattle may also put him in Thomas' spot if he retires. Seattle loves big physical secondary players that are highly athletic, so this is a great fit.

Hopefully our 2nd rounder is an OT. And then our two thirds we grab DL (interior, pass rush specialist) and CB.

Seattle's O-Line needs an OT, but Ifedi should develop (especially considering he had an injury early in the season), Britt was a top 5 center in the league, and we had 2-3 injuries elsewhere on the line. Hopefully those guys come back.

I don't want to see Kam go. Sad

But I do agree, I don't think that he's worth the money he will be probably going after, considering his age and, well, the money we're paying some other guys.

Don't get me wrong, I don't either. And he had a great year despite some injuries. But I think by the time he hits 30, commanding $10M per year by SOMEONE with cap room, we're gonna have to move on.

We're already paying so much to Thomas/Sherman and IMO Lane was a mistake signing. Locking up nearly $45M in the secondary (was $40M in '16, believe it goes up again) is just ridiculous. IMO the LOB wasn't even the reason we won the Super Bowl. It was the phantom WTF pass rush generated by Bennett/Avril/Clemons/Mebane-McDonald that allowed Peyton a pathetic amount of time to do anything.

Hell Manning barely had time to do anything in the SBOWL. The only HIGHLIGHT play from the secondary was Chancellor's blowup hit on Thomas. The rest were just, "Manning threw a lame duck because he was hit again and the secondary did stuff."

Don't get me wrong, even with a good pass rush (nevermind, GREAT pass rush) you STILL need some decent/good guys in the secondary, but not $45M worth.

If you take out Wilson, the Seattle secondary is GREATER than the ENTIRE REST OF THE OFFENSE. D-Line is almost HALF of what we're spending on secondary and Frank Clark is still super cheap.

WTF!? Seattle has to make some cuts on secondary. It was great when Sherman/Chancellor were free... it's not great anymore and it's showing. Our star QB is getting slaughtered, we have no O-Line, our D-Line is a shell of itself, and it'll be REAL interesting with LBer considering Bobby Wagner was consensus #1 this year, KJ Wright would EASILY get $10M in free agency, and Smith is probably BAILING free agency.

Too much money locked up in the secondary. It was tough to argue those signings when they happened, not at ALL tough to let them walk now. Jeremy Lane was a D+ signing when it happened in my book. I was NEVER a fan of it.

I agree with you.

I think that we should still be okay if we lose one of those highly payed players from the secondary, and it honestly doesn't matter that much (I'm exaggerating a bit here) who we have got out there as long as our QB has to run for his life and improvise a bunch so often.

There's a lot of talent on the roster, but also a lot of money being spent, and as much as the defense is going to (usually) do their job, it's still fairly obvious that with a struggling O in some parts there's only so much you can do when it comes to making it far.

OL, but that will never happen.
Therefore a stronger pass defense, get another safety (just in case) and definitely another corner.
