Top needs for the Vikings:

1. RT - Jeremiah Sirles and T.J. Clemmings aren't long-term options.
2. RG - Brandon Fusco has been awful this year, absolutely no push in the run game.
3. RB - Adrian Peterson's days in MN are numbered. Jerick McKinnon can't carry the load. Matt Asiata is nothing more than a third down RB.
4. LT - Matt Kalil is a free agent, I think it's likely he returns. Kalil is still a below average, injury-prone player, so LT should still be addressed.
5. UT - Sharrif Floyd is always hurt, the Vikes could really use a traditional penetrating 3 technique. Shamar Stephen has been solid in place of Floyd but he is more of a NT type.
6. S - Andrew Sendejo is serviceable but more talent is needed.

2017 Buffalo Bills needs (no specific order):

DT/NT - Depending on what scheme we run with a new head coach, we will need a run stopping defensive tackle. We got absolutely gashed this year, the return of ILB Reggie Ragland should help, but Kyle Williams is getting older, and even when Dareus was on the field, he was lazy.

CB - More than likely Stephon Gilmore will either be let go or franchised, either way, we will need a CB opposite of Darby.

S - Aaron Williams' career could very well be over and Corey Graham is solid, but on the wrong side of 30.

WR - Watkins health is always an issue, and whether we keep Robert Woods or let him go, we could use a receiving threat across from him.

RT - The Bills seem to be solid across the line at everywhere besides RT. Jordan Mills is garbage and Cyrus Kouandjio did play decent down the stretch when the season was dead and gone, but he is probably better served as a swing OT.

QB - This kind of depends if we bring back Tyrod Taylor or not, even if we do, we will only have him and Cardale Jones on the roster. We could use a long term backup or potential starter depending on the future of Tyrod.

K - Dan Carpenter has been toeing the line the past few years, this could or could not be the year we replace him.

My Vikings top needs:

1. OT - Both RT and LT, and they are both pretty high priority. I kind of expect the Vikings to address one of them in free agency.

2. C - Berger is old, so the Vikings will want to replace him.

3. RB - Peterson will likely be gone from the Vikings. McKinnon and Asiata can be okay behind a good offensive line, but I'll pass it.

4. DT - Joseph is one starter, don't know what will happen with the other DT position. Stephen is solid and Floyd is good when healthy, issue is when healthy.

5. OG - I think this is the mid/late round need. Fusco can still play well and Boone was signed last off season, but depth is needed as Fusco probably only has a bit of time left on the team.

6. S - Sendejo wasn't bad, so he could still stay as a starter opposite Harrison Smith

7. LB - Greenway will probably retire, so makes sense to draft some depth at that position.

8. K - If they don't bring back Forbath, definitely a need.

Updated for 2017 draft

Steeler needs:

EDGE - They failed with Jarvis Jones and Harrison will be another year older. Moats ( a FA) and Chickallo are jags. I expect them to draft at least 2 EDGE players in this draft.

WR - The Steeler depth at quality WR is low. Wheaton will be gone. Bryant can't be counted on and Coates is having issues. I expect at least one WR to be taken.

FS - Day two

CB - Day two need. More depth.

ILB - Watch what happens with Timmons. I expect him to be back with a team friendly deal for 3-4 years. If not then this is a need.

Dend - For depth. The Steelers like their DEs to be at least 6-5 and 300 lbs.

RB - I fully expect the Steelers to franchise Bell. This would be a RB for depth.

Not Needs
OLine is NOT a Need. Even for depth. They have 3 quality backups and all starters are under contract.
QB - I expect the Steelers to get a vet to backup Big Ben or retain Jones.
DT
P
K

Lions Needs:

1. RB 2nd worst running game in the league. How most people ignore this as a Lions need is incredible to me.
2. CB We desperately need a #2 CB.
3. OG Laken Thomlinson stinks.
4. FS/SS Someone to lock down opposite Glover Quinn.
5. - 7. Depth, Depth, Depth. Would love Jake Butt to slide down here.

With free agency essentially over:

1. RG - Jeremiah Sirles or Joe Berger would start right now, definitely not adequate.

2. OT - I'm still putting Tackle as a priority. Riley Reiff isn't a very good LT and Mike Remmers is nothing special at RT. Ideally, MN would find a LT to groom for a year and slide Reiff over to RT.

3. UT - Need a penetrating type, Sharrif Floyd hasn't been reliable due to injuries. His future is uncertain and he will be a free agent in 2018.

4. LB - Emmanuel Lamur and Edmond Robinson are the two favorites to take over Greenways role. MN needs to find an upgrade and more depth.

5. RB - Latavius Murray and Jerrick McKinnon will be the top two RBs but more depth is needed. McKinnon is a free agent in 2018.

6. S - Andrew Sendejo is okay but a developmental starter could be added to eventually take over. Someone who can play all over the field is ideal in Zimmers defense.

Team needs for the Panthers

- Not someone they have to trade up for #2 for (this rumor is totally unsubstantiated)
- Not someone with character issues (Mixon, Cook, Westbrook, etc)
- A bruising RB in the vein of J-Stew
- A speed WR or at least a WR who isn't a lumbering oaf like Benji and Funchess
- Tight end, preferably one who can somewhat block and not just a big WR
- DE that is at least 265+ lbs
- CB, keep in mind they like length and pay more attention to long speed on tape rather than the 40, also want someone who can wrap up
- OT depth aka stop saying "Yeah they need a starter cuz Kalil and Oher suck lol" even though we just paid them big $ to start
- SS, someone who is a hard hitter like a Roman Harper or Quintin Mikell
- FB maybe since they've talked about how they like the position but we don't have one of the roster really

Obviously this isn't all going to get selected in the draft and Gettleman will still go with Best Value Available (see Vernon Butler, Shaq Thompson) but those are the needs at the moment.

Lions needs
(in order of value to the team systems)

1) LB (MLB/WLB-playmaker)
2) 3DT (quick twitch/gap shooter)
3) LDE (closed end/size matters)
4) CB (#2, boundary. No shrimps.)
.........................
5) LB (WLB/OLB-whichever not picked earlier, speed is necessary)
6) WR (#3. Big, possession type. No shrimps.)
7) TE (#2. Plan A: combo blocker/receiver. Plan B: good receiver, willing blocker)
8.) Power RB, #3 QB, FS, DT, DE, OT,or KR/PR (back-up/depth)

The Lions have invested significantly more money into their scouting process this year. And they've been noticeably more active in attending pro-days and in talking with the athletes.

One trend Lion fans have noticed is that they are gravitating more towards the high Sparq-type athletes who are big and fast, over those with high stats production.

Honestly, though, we are still trying to figure out Bob Quinn's draft day philosophies. But in seemingly candid comments he has indicated he values the inside-out approach. Or those closest to the ball being highest priority. He went after offensive linemen quite heavily in last year's draft and in free agency this year. We will see where he goes this year in the draft.
