Quote:
With his family concerned about his health, Gary Kubiak likely is stepping down as the Denver Broncos head coach, multiple league sources told ESPN.

It would leave Denver searching for another head coach just two years after hiring Kubiak, who helped lead the Broncos to a Super Bowl title less than one year ago. But this year has taken a toll on the 55-year-old Kubiak and his family.

Kubiak had to take leave from the Broncos for a week in October and miss a Thursday night game in San Diego due to what the team called a "complex migraine condition." Back in 2013, when Kubiak was coaching the Houston Texans, he suffered a mini-stroke during a game and had to be rushed to the hospital.

If there's one spot in the NFL Chip Kelly can make it, I think it is here. Don't let him near personnel decisions, and keep going for the dominant defense strategy. Then since Paxton is athletic, just let Chip run the offense.

Is there better options for the Broncos? Probably. But I'm saying it from Chip's perspective.

I'll say it.

Rex Ryan....?

Would Phillips want to be a HC? They could also wait until Sean Payton gets canned.

I think it'll come down to Vance Joseph and Kyle Shanahan. I hope Elway doesn't even consider Rex or having Wade as the HC.

Both Chip and Rex are done in the NFL.

Considering Denver is still in win-now mode, promoting Phillips is the likely scenario.

Who knows, maybe they'll hire Kyle Shanahan and sign both Cutler and B-Marsh to really bring the whole gang back together.

This can't possibly be an autocorrect for Asante Samuel.....

Phillips has an expiring contract. I don't think he's going to be the HC

Would Mike Shanahan come out of retirement. The Denver opening is easily the best, but the QB situation is complicated. Hard to force a newHC to inheret Lynch given he was a late first rd pick and didn't show much as a rookie.

Bring back LEATHERFACE!!!
Or hire the 'mini shanny'

I'll take Wade to Oakland (or wherever we move) if he's available.

Mike Shanahan will not be the Broncos head coach

I'm happy he's taking his health seriously. It's not worth it to die on the sidelines and he already has a Super Bowl.

Cleveland needs to sign him.
Indianapolis needs to sign him.
San Diego needs to sign him.
Green Bay..... I don't think they'd sign him. Wouldn't hurt, but I don't see it happening.
New Orleans needs to sign him. As much as that defense has been slowly improving, Wade Phillips could kick that into fast forward.
San Francisco needs to sign him.

Honestly deep down I think that's a cop out, but I'm not willing to commit to that stance.

Kyle Shanahan makes a lot of sense to me personally

He just ruined the last great defense he had, he's going to want to take control from Wade, and every young QB he's ever had has regressed under him.

So I hope he goes there
