Just wanted to ask ya'll about Matt Barkley, do you know how/why he fell out of favor with Arians? We've had him for a couple starts in Chicago and he's played decently.

I figured that... I'm more wondering why? Was it a bad scheme fit? Weak arm/no talent? Was he not making his reads?

Barkley had his choice to stay on our practice squad. Arians only suits up two QBs and Palmer and Stanton are those two. Not much else to that

Barkley looks very good on Chicago. He's doesn't fit Arians' vertical passing game due to arm limitations but I think Arizona might have missed out on a good one.

This is what has some of us surprised... he sparked a comeback in the 4th against the Tennessee only to have our WRs drop two game winning TDs. It would have been a 21-point comeback, 400 yard and 4 TD performance. Then again it was the Titans.

Against San Fran in a snowstorm he kept completing balls downfield, shifting around in the pocket and finding the open man. Then again it was the 49ers.

We're not sure what to think but I can say the system we have is extremely similar to what he was doing at USC, and I am seeing some of his talents transfer to this level. Cautiously optimistic... especially since the kid just turned 26.
