i was just curious if it would suprise anyone if we picked up a wide receiver in the first round.

i know i would be even though i don't think that would be a horrible decision as long as it isn't ginn.

what do you have against Ginn?

if all four of the CBs are gone, then yeah, we should go for one.

I'd go for Dwayne Bowe...I think he is a safer pick in the first and many argue that he will be better in the long run than Ginn...

Plus, he is local......

I wouldn't be shocked at all. Especially if all the DT's, CB's, and LB's that are worthy of a 1st round pick are gone. I like:

1 Meahem
2 Rice
3 Bowe

i don't have anything personally against (ginn)
i just believe he will become anothe devery henderson and i would really perfer a position receiver that has speed and i don't think ginn is go to materail

Well you do know Ginn is only in his third year as a WR... So obv he has no where to go but up considering Bowe, Meachem, Jarrett and the rest have been playing WR possibly for thier entire career. Ginn was originally a CB. So if we take Ginn we also have a player that could practice at CB and possible be a triple threat as WR, CB, and kick returns. But of course whoever we get is going to be the right pick as the FO has been doing a good job.

Its hard for me to buy thw whole "Ginn will get better because hes only been a reciever for three years" bit because WR is a vastly easier position (relatively or not) to learn than any other. Lets go over what a reciever has to do shall we? 1.) Run route (learn the play book) 2.) Catch the Ball 3.) Run some more (with the ball preferably) 4.) Block on occasion (an aspect of Bowe's game which goes vastly overlooked)

No offense to any former WR here but thats not very complicated so if he "hasnt learned to play the position yet" then there is little chance he will suddenly get it in the pros.

As for the pick, everything seems to indicate that we will go CB in the first, but, as Raves said, I trust our FO plenty so as to not worry.

I think the only position that would surprise me in the first would be QB, DE, S, and RB. the rest wouldn't surprise me a bit...ok well a kicker would do more than surprise me but lets not get into that...

here is my list of guys i would want to draft:

1. Chris Houston
2. Aaron Ross
3. Dewayne Bowe
4. Darrell Revis
5. Tank Tyler

i fell these 5 guys will be available either at 27 or close enough to 27 that a reaonable trade can happen. Tyler and Revis may fall into the 2nd round
