I wouldn't say surprised. There were no real standouts, starters included. Gabriel is the closest thing to a standout we had. I'm surprised we only kept 5. I guess we will see what happens, I think we will trade for another or pick one up on the waiver wire.

Fair enough Johnson was mean to be athletic and I didn't think he was, I liked wilie Snead, I thought he did well.

Not really. It was either him or Burleson, and I think they went youthful potential over veteran steadiness. Plus, Burleson was injured much of camp.

I thought Johnson looked worth keeping. Anyone know anything about our WR coach? Does he have a history of coaching guys up?

We have 5 WR's and 12 DB's I do expect that to change at some point.

I wonder if we Kept a extra DB or two because a couple of guys are a little banged up. Then when they are better maybe we cut one and bolster the WR core

Farmer is playing the hand for WR very close to vest. He has known all along the status of Gordon and still is on a path. With a bunch of no names trying to make roster, the talent was weak. Hawkins is only reliable wideout and Autin et al are marginal. So, I think Farmer has been negotiating for a big WR as Browns have some picks and DB's to make a deal. No PLAYOFF team will trade a solid WR but some of the teams that start out poorly will be glad to dump a contract like we almost did with Gordon last year. Browns hope is to stay around .500 with solid QB play, running attack, and D. Then the O under Shanahan should be improving the timing or Manziel gets it so the O can move the ball and chains.

Farmer passed on S Holmes and many other wannabees or has-beens for a reason. Next year, with Gordon and a #1 pick for WR the problem of WR is resolved. So what to do in the interim, rent a contract for 10M when team is desperate.

I'd give up something solid for Cecil Shorts from Jax. Also Denarius Moore, Rod Streater from Oak, Da'Rick Rogers from Ind.

Not trolling.

Greg Little anyone?
I mean sure he sucks... like really sucks. But what do we have to lose if we sign him to a very cheap contract and keep him as a 4th or 5th option?
He is at least worth it for the run game...

You don't eat where you poop, and you certainly don't eat what you poop.

Shorts would be very difficult to get. Jax is in no position to trade away WRs when Blackmon keeps getting busted and they have a rookie qb that needs someone reliable to throw to.
