I thought it would be fun so make some predictions and come back after the season and see how much we were off. Laughing

I'm going optimistic with my stats so hold on to your pants.

All stats are based on everyone playing a full 16 games without injury because predicting injuries makes me sad. Laughing

Locker 346/520 66.5% 3,500 yards 28 TD 11 INT.
50 rushes 350 yards. 4 TD 2 Fumbles

Wright 86 rec. 1,045 yards. 5 TD's

Hunter 55 rec. 700 yards. 7 TD's

Washington 50 rec. 375 yards. 4 TD's

McCluster 54 rec. 455 yards. 3 TD's
86 carries. 365 yards. 3 TD's 3 Fumbles

Walker 43 rec. 405 yards. 4 TD's

Thompson 24 rec. 215 yards. 2 TD's

Sankey 34 rec. 305 yards. 3 TD's
215 carries. 882 yards. 5 TD's 3 Fumbles

Greene
124 carries. 456 yards. 5 TD's 1 Fumble

Although we have a different coaching staff this season I based most of the attempts off last seasons numbers just for reference, but I also looked at San Diego's numbers as well.
For example, between Fitz and Locker last season we attempted 533 passes. Philip Rivers attempted 544 passes last season I brought that number down a tiny bit because I expect us to take advantage of our good OL and run the ball a tad more.

Note: I'm was really skeptical about giving McCluster 54 balls before I looked into it some more but if we plan to use him like San Diego used Woodhead I can see it. Woodhead caught 76 passes last season. Not to mention the past two seasons McCluster has caught 53 and 52 passes. I really have no idea how many rushes he'll get so I went back to the Woodhead comparison again. Woodhead carried the ball 106 times last season. I don't think McCluster will get as many carries here, but I could see him getting 5-6 carries a game so I gave him 86 carries.

Between CJ, Greene and Battle we ran the ball 392 times last season. San Diego ran he ball 447 times. So I met somewhere near the middle around 425 carries between McCluster, Sankey and Greene.

Some people will probably cry foul with Locker's numbers. If we look at last season and pretend he played a full season using his numbers from the 7 games in which he played we are looking at almost 2,900 yards. (This includes his final game against Jax which he went 4-9 for 24 yards and the game against the Jets in which he was knocked out of the game early in the 2nd half.) Going back to 2012, we can do the same thing and see that Locker was on pace for more than 3,100 yards if he would've stayed healthy. It's also good to note that every year Locker has played in the NFL thus far his completion percentage has grown. In 2011 he only completed 51.5% of his passes. In 2012 he completed 56.4%, while last year he continued to grow and completed 60.7%. So as we can see there is consistent growth there and with the addition of Whiz I think Locker could come close to the numbers I projected for him.

In fact, if we take out that Jacksonville game where Jake got hurt and use the first 6 games we are looking at him being on pace for 3,285 yards, 21 TD's 10 Int's and a 61.4 completion percentage. You COULD also argue that Jake would've continued to put up good numbers in the game against the Jets before he was knocked out about 4 minutes into the 3rd Q. Up to that point he was 18-24 for 149 yards and 3 TD's. He could've easily thrown for another 100 yards and another TD in the remaining time but we won't go that far. Laughing

Of course there will be a few other guys that will probably catch some passes/run the ball but I don't think they will add up enough to really skew my predictions last much so I didn't include them. Besides, we don't know who the 4th receiver will be yet.

I may make a run at defensive predictions sometime later. Gotta look into Horton's past defenses and see who usually makes the most tackles/sacks, etc before I feel comfortable making predictions on that side of the ball.

Pretty well-reasoned all around. Nice job. I don't think we'll see that many touchdown passes out of Locker, but this new offense seems geared to high-percentage passes, so a spike in completion percentage certainly isn't out of the question. I'd guess that Locker throws 22 TDs and completes 63% of his passes, but other than that has similar numbers to your projections.

I'm expecting more yardage out of Kendall Wright. Something like 90/1200/6 rec/yds/TDs. I think he's really going to have a strong season.

Hunter seems about right. That's a big dip for Washington, but I guess the passing yardage has to go somewhere, and I do think we'll use McCluster heavily. The rest I can get on board with.
