Heading over to the CBs with this one. We expect Milliner to be the #1 CB this season and take a step forward, but which of our #2s will get the nod next to him? McDougle has a superior ceiling, but he's a rookie and has an injury history. We have Darrin Walls and Kyle Wilson who have been servicable in the past as #2s and we have the newly acquired Dimitri Patterson who has played some good football when not injured.

I think we would all love to see McDougle healthy and winning that battle, but I think they brought in Patterson to start.

Best to have the vet Patterson start. He's a solid CB when on the field. McDougle hopefully takes it before seasons end though and forms a great duo with Dee.

I'm not worried about McDougle's injury history. Mostly freak accidents than actual recurring things.

CB's have a steep learning curve as Milliner saw last year. Hopefully Patterson can stay healthy enough so he has time to adjust.

I think it'll be Patterson unless injured. Ideally I'd like to see McDougle win it out to give is one of the best young secondary's in the NFL.

I see Patterson as the starting CB opposite Millner come Week 1. Wilson will be the slot CB while McDougle and Walls backup all 3 positions. I expect all of the CBs to get plenty of playing time thru the season.

There fixed it. Patterson probably gets the start, then gets hurt around week 5. Then we can only hope McDougle does DT proud and runs with the job.

I think McDougle shows enough to win the job. Will mostly come down to who doesn't get hurt.

I think it will be Patterson but I haven't counted Dowling out yet. I expect McDougle to get a lot of play in the slot

This is a tough one. I think it should be Patterson's job to lose, but McDougle could very well make him lose it.

I'll say Patterson for now.

I trust all the CBs up there to be useful on defense, but I don't think Walls or Wilson will be utilized on the outside which leaves it to Patterson or McDougle. Patterson's the safer bet to be consistent out of those two, but I also have a man crush on McDougle and wouldn't be surprised if he finds his way into the rotation even if Patterson stays healthy

I want to hear from someone who was at the game last night to give another prospective how Antonio Allen played. It was very unlikely that he would light the world on fire, but he didn't fall flat on his face either. I really wouldn't be surprised if he was a starter because I can see the "Idzik-influence" coming into play...

You look at the way the league is changing and a lot of teams are putting safety-like players and playing them as cover-3 corners or press corners. I can't go into the nitty-gritty details regarding the switch, but Allen is an athlete who did a great job of press-man last year which leads me to believe that he could possibly play that role. He'll struggle against smaller/quicker receivers, but I think he can definitely play press man as a no.2 corner if the front 7 does what they're expected to do.
