I agree, but last year his first couple of games back he looked a little sluggish ( for Aldon ). I want him full go. _________________ saintsfan on the sig

Yeah, but remember he was out of all football activities for five weeks. I'm not even sure how much he worked out while in rehab. This will be a little different since he will still be able to practice and maybe we play him more in the 4th preseason game. _________________

Aldon Smith's sentencing will take place today, not next week.
Around 1:30 his hearing will take place. _________________

Aldon Smith sentenced to 12 days for weapons charges. Served concurrent. Can opt for work program in lieu of jail |
Avoided jail time as he could do community service instead. And the felony gun charges were downgraded to a misdemeanor. As well as it could have gone for Aldon, and he shouldn't get more than a 1-2 game suspension.
Gets in trouble again though? He's pretty much done. _________________

Quote: | Aldon Smith and the San Francisco 49ers should learn fairly soon what if any disciplinary action the star pass-rusher will receive from the NFL.
According to an NFL source, Smith is expected to fly to New York sometime in the near future. It could be as soon as next week, although an exact date has not been set. |

Hopefully he realizes that this is probably the last straw for him. He's pretty lucky to have gotten just a slap on the wrist for his bomb threat... |

Was he lucky with the bomb threat, or maybe he was telling the truth from day one? It was a little fishy how it went down, and he was adamant he didn't say what he was accused of saying.
Either way, he is on his last strike and better get it together. _________________

If true, great news that he has been sober since last September. _________________

I think management has to say something like that. It shows they take matter seriously (as if they wouldn't). If they came out and said "2 to 4 weeks sounds right", and then Goodell comes out with a 4 weeks suspension, people around the league (seahawks fans) would call it a conspiracy or something. If the team says 6-8, and Goodell says 4, then it shows that Goodell has recognised and rewarded Aldon's and the team's efforts to proactively correct the situation (with the voluntary and team supported rehab). I really think we had to say 6 to 8 publically. That's PR. _________________

I agree. To the general public, it probably seems like he shouldn't even be in the NFL anymore. So if we were to come out and say "we expect Aldon to miss 2-4 to suspension" it almost sounds like we aren't taking the matter seriously. I think Gooddell gives him 6, reduces it to 3-4. _________________

Will his suspension be lowered now if that new drug policy goes through? There's word Gordon and Welkers suspensions will be reduced so why not Aldon? _________________
