At TE we have the solid incumbent Jeff Cumberland, and Texas Tech standout Jace Amaro. We know Amaro is the long term solution at TE and will really open things up in the air, but is he ready to start over Cumberland who has progressed each of the past few seasons? Amaro has not been an inline TE during his college career so may experience some growing pains. If the WRs don't step up then he will definitely get time split out wide. Geno has played better when incorporating the TEs but Cumberland is not a game changer. I would be surprised if he isn't starting Week 1, and I'd be even more surprised if he is at the end of the season.

Amaro. Although I see a lot if 2 TE sets.

Amaro won't have to do much to pass Cumberland. He's dropped some big passes for us and isn't some stud blocker either. Amaro will win this job sooner rather than later.

I agree with the 2 TE sets though. I think the battle could be for number two more then #1. Sudfeld has shown good potential.

If Amaro looks decent I think he starts. I'm not a fan of Cumberland (inconsistent hand and poor blocking ability) and hope that Sudfeld can move into the second TE role

Cumberland will start this year, Amaro will sub frequently and be used as a move/slot TE.

If the Idzik trend holds then his guys will start unless they get severely outplayed

I'll say Amaro starts

Amaro, but Cumberland will still see plenty of action.

I still say Cumberland's our #1 TE because he fits the prototypical TE fit much better and he'll be more useful in helping out the running game. I also have a hard time imagining Amaro making a huge impact this year despite the stats he put up in college, I think if Geno throws for 3500 yards the break down would go something like this

Decker: 800
Kerley: 650
Amaro: 450
Cumberland: 450
Nelson: 400
Johnson: 300
Hill: 250
Powell/Ivory: 200

Which is actually pretty nice considering how balanced it is, bad fantasy #'s though

That's low for Decker and Kerley unless they miss games. I can't see the RBs getting that much and the TEs combining for 900.
