Means he's healthy enough to pass a physical, right?

Tomorrow he's going to do some medical eval and send it to all 32 teams. I'm too lazy to find the link, I saw it on my BR app on my phone.

His doctor (Dr. Joseph Maroon) is the Pittsburg team neurosurgeon, so he's cleared in one place.

The news seems to be that this scan could be the one that gets him cleared, and if not, it's not over, just like Richardson had to keep running the testing gauntlet until he passed.

Not that anyone ever accused Finley of being a smart man, but publicly saying he's turning down a job offer because he can get more money thru his insurance is some damn fine ammunition for his insurance to never pay him...

seriously, how could this not occur to him?

Laughing

Guess I hadn't thought of that.

Not sure how much that means, tbh. Independent doctors are great and all, but the notion I've gotten from people is that teams don't care about any medical not demonstrated by a team doctor.

Depends on the wording in his policy, right? Like, some college athletes have insurance policies that state if they fall out of the first round they get to collect, if it's due to injury. If you go #33, it's the same as going undrafted. Was his policy covering the terms of his next contract?

yup

highly, highly doubt his policy would pay out if he turns down offers to play again. Can't see that being something an insurance company would offer.

I feel like the Packers have moved on without officially stating it as such.

Here's a question. Why not make it official.

What gain is there to "making it official"? Some players make take that as the Packers not supporting their own. As long as they can keep the current party line, everyone is happier and I don't see any good reason to change from that.

Think of the last time a team said they weren't going to sign a guy unless the player retired due to injury. It just doesn't happen.

Well like I heard he still has his name on his locker.....like that part. Why?

It just feels odd how it's so...I don't know the word. It just feels odd to me. The whole thing.

I do know that Finley has a non-football/non-medical related appointment in Green Bay tomorrow.

Can confirm from a second source that there's nothing new from the #Packers end with Finley, either.
