Yeah I don't see anything coming of that. His comments make it pretty apparent anyway that he thinks he's worth a lot more than he currently is. If I was him I'd take that $10 mil, retire, and keep my health.

IF the Steelers were to land Finley that'd be awesome. But I don't see it happening.

Exactly.

He isnt going to get a huge contract anywhere. May as well take the payday and retire rather than risk getting less and end up permanently injured.

Ever since the news of the insurance policy came out, I have always thought take the money and walk away. Probably become a espn sideline reporter.

I'm more shocked to see a player make a smart financial decision than anything else here. The Steeler's have shown interest in Finley since the start of FA.

Comes down to if he really feels he is healthy enough to play, and if that desire, physical ability, and -more or less- fear of injury keeps him from getting back to his regular form.

He can make much more money if he comes back and is successful than that 10 mil injury settlement.

He is still young, and i believe the last contract he signed was 2 years, 14 mil 5.5 guaranteed.

Talent is there, but he will not get money or years on this next contract.

He needs to weigh if its just worth the 10 mil now, and never play football again, or sign a one year "prove it deal" and see what comes out of it for his future.

Tough decision...

If he is smart he will take the 10 mil and run.

If teams are smart. They will let him.
