Practice Squad

Rettig (QB)... The only QB with PS eligibility currently on the roster, it's his for the taking

R. Neal (RB)... Fun Fact: GB has opened the season with at least 1 RB on the PS for the last 5 years and I don't see that changing. Hill will be his primary competition. Perkins doesn't threaten unless something happens to Harris.

Harper (WR) ... Thompson learned from his mistake with Charles Johnson and keeps Janis on the 53. It's Harper vs. Dorsey for this position. We could keep both, but I don't see that happening if we carry 6 receivers on the 53. All things (health) equal Harper wins the spot.

Perillo (TE) ... Necessary insurance if Lyerla makes the final roster. Looked good in OTAs, underrated player with soft hands.

Adams (OL) & Fullington (OL)- Since 2010, Packers have always opened the season with at least two OL on the PS. These are my two favorites, but you could certainly make an argument for both Tiller and McCray

Doughty (ILB) Has an excellent chance to make the final 53. Packers aren't known for keeping many LBs on their PS, but I think he could be an exception

Rolle (CB) You can never have enough quality DBs.

Best of the Rest (with PS eligibility)

Nate Palmer (OLB)
Michael Hill (RB)
Kevin Dorsey (WR)
Andrew Tiller (OG)
Mike Pennel (DT)
Adrian Hubbard (OLB)
Jordan McCray (OG)
Joe Thomas (ILB)
Charles Clay (S)
Carlos Gray (DE)

QB: Rodgers, Flynn (Agree)
RB: Lacy, Starks, Harris (Most likely but Harris could get beat out if he hasn't come all the way back from his knee injury)
FB: Kuhn (Agree)
TE: Quarless, Bostick, Rodgers, Lyerla, Taylor (Agree)
WR: Nelson, Boykin, Cobb, Adams, Abbrederis (Will they keep 6 and have 1 fewer TE's)
OL: Bulaga, Bakhtiari, Sitton, Lang, Tretter, Barclay, Sherrod, Linsley (Sherrod might not make it if a young guy steps up)
DL: Daniels, Raji, Boyd, Jones, Worthy, Thornton, Neal (Worthy is big time on the bubble)
OLB: Clay, Peppers, Perry, Bradford, Mulumba (Bradford will be an ILB I believe)
ILB: Hawk, Jones, Lattimore, Barrington (Barrington is 50/50 IMO)
CB: Tramon, Shields, Hayward, House, Bush, Goodson (I am thinking Hyde will be a hybrid safety/CB and be listed as a CB so Goodson to the PS)
S: Burnett, HaHa, Hyde, Richardson (I think Banjo might make it)
ST: Crosby, Mashtay, Goode (Agree)

Janis has a chance if they keep six or if somebody gets injured. Wasn't Johnson injured last season during camp? Tough to keep an afterthought 7th rounder on the 53, who essentially did nothing to earn a roster spot.

Sherrod is a prime example (like Justin Harrell) of a player protected by his draft status.

Sherrod is a prime example (like Justin Harrell) of a player protected by his sky-high potential.

People really think after last year we go into the season with only 2 QB's on the 53? Tolzien definitely showed enough to get scooped up if we cut him unless he completely flops in TC and PS. He'll be kept I think.

Agreed. He's the last one to make the cut, but he'll make the cut over someone like Raijon Neal who will prove more in preseason. I think he AND Perkins have a legit shot at being on the practice squad together; especially if Perkins can prove to be a developing receiving threat out of the backfield. I don't see Goodson making the final 53. He's a developmental player which will probably show in the preseason. I hope I'm wrong and he bumps off Jarrett Bush or someone like that.

Here's my 53 at the moment:

Offense(26):
QB: Rodgers, Flynn, Tolzien
RB: Lacy, Starks, Harris, Kuhn
H-Back: Bostick, D!ckrod
TE: Quarless, Lyerla, Taylor
WR: Nelson, Cobb, Boykin, Adams, Abby, Janis
OT: Bakh, Bulaga, Barclay, Sherrod
OG: Tretter, Lang, Sitton
C: Linsley(I think he beats out Tretter)

Defense(24):
DL: Raji, Guion, Daniels, D. Jones, Boyd, Worthy Thornton
OLB: Peppers, Neal, CMIII, Perry, Bradford
ILB: Hawk, B. Jones, Barrington, Lattimore
CB: Shields, Hayward, Tramon, House, Bush
S: Burnett, LOL, Hyde, Richardson

ST(3): The usual suspects

PS(9):

Rettig, Neal, Perkins, Tiller, Fullington, Goodson, Dorsey, Perillo, Doughty

This is a tentative 53 of course, some young guys will get hurt and we'll find a way to stash them on some sort of IR or PUP list.
