Hey, we need some LH pop and I've heard that Zim is going to need to move to 1B soon since he can't really throw the ball anymore. Assuming Rendon moves to 3B then and Espinosa to 2B, that leaves LaRoche as the odd man out.

What would it take to get LaRoche off your hands?

Who are you?

I can't imagine Rizzo letting LaRoche go if the Nationals are still in the mix. For one, Zimmerman and Rendon both have a history of injuries. Second, LaRoche is in the midst of the best season of his career. Not likely to let that walk in the middle of the playoff race.

Brewers.

I think you're be more likely to get Tyler Moore than Laroche.

For one, I don't think Espinosa's bat is for real. And he isn't going to outhit anyway, Desi's struggles not withstanding. Rendon can field second well enough and his bat is legit. Zim's bat is needed.

Frankly, the only way I could see Laroche being traded is if it's painfully obvious that Zim can't play third (more than it already is) and his bat doesn't make up for his errors.

But if they're out of the playoffs by the deadline, I'd move him for Arcia & Jungmann

Yeah we'd have no interest in Moore, we have enough RHs. No way I give up Arcia for a rental of an average 1B.

Embarrassing loss today. You can't lose a series to the Phillies when you beat their best pitcher and they scratch their second best.

Braves went 0-6 and the Nats couldn't get past them in the standings.

Yeah, yesterday was terrible. You have to score runs off Fausto Carmona.

This team seems to struggle mightily against the journeyman starter.

Not playing our best, with alot of our horses injured, but sitting in first place. Not bad all things considered.

Thank god for Atlanta's collapse. We are not playing like a first place team. Luckily Atlanta's schedule stays tough for half of May

No doubt, I agree, but just being in the thick of things right now is ok for me. Ramos will be back later this week as well as Fister. That's a pretty big boost right there.

You know what? Playing with house money. There's no way you go in to that game expecting anything. So relax, let it fly, swing early, swing often.

What a weird week. Lose to Hernadez but somehow beat Grienke.

http://washington.cbslocal.com/2014/05/07/matt-williams-smashed-in-high-speed-chase-live-on-the-radio/

While on the air with the Sports Junkies this morning, Manager Matt Williams was rear-ended by a man in a car eluding the police. He was almost to Nats Park, talking about Ian Desmond when:

Quote:

“Sorry guys, I just had an accident,” Williams abruptly said.

“You okay?” EB asked.

“I’ve got a police officer behind me. This guy’s gonna try to escape,” Williams said. “The guy’s running.”

“Alright, hold on,” EB said. “Did you witness the accident, or you’re in the accident?”

“He just ran right in the back of me,” Williams said.

“Oh, you got rear-ended?” JP asked.

“I just got rear-ended by a guy in a car,” Williams said. “Hold on. This guy’s crashing into people.”

“Oh no,” EB said.

“Yea,” Williams confirmed.

“Are you okay?” EB asked.

“I’m good,” Williams said. “There was a police car behind me, and a guy in a car and he tried to get by me and he just smoked me.”

Matt Williams foiled a terrorist plot to murder thousands of innocent bystanders today. He's the hero this city needs.

Oh and Buffalo is back. Be nice if he could cap of a 6 run first inning. You know, to make Dan Haren feel at home here in DC.

Big time stop by the pen. And HUGE props to Williams for using Blevins in the 8th even though Clippard is the "8th Inning Guy"

I'd really like to see Storen used as the non-9th inning closer. As in, he's the guy that comes in the middle of a 3-2 game in the sixth when they have runners on second and third and we have to have "non-productive" outs.

Another bad starting pitcher comes out and dominates the Nationals. Like, seriously, if you're playing the Nats, pull your ace and go sign some journeyman.
