The FA is responsible for both the Premiershp and the England national team. They have a vested interest in both. | That is exactly what's wrong with it when the FA decides to have proposals effecting the Premiership. |

The FA isn't responsible for the Premier League.
But every other major league has caps on non-EU foreign players, so I don't see the harm. |

Imagine if the FSG decides to announce they can not sign any additional football players to Liverpool for next season only because they signed too many free agents in baseball. Liverpool fans would be rightly upset and it actually would not be their fault either. How about when Al Fayed owned Fulham and if he proposed that every player on Fulham had to operate the register at Harrod's one day a month. Fulham's players would likely be wondering what's the link between football and his store. Same with the proposal for clubs like Coventry to become the Sky Blues B Team for Manchester City to boost chances of the England team winning again. Mixing your decisions to effect each because you have a vested interest in both isn't close to right and effects the pro league. The Premiership is global and guessing the fans would like the league to be the greatest and not a training ground for bettering the England team's World Cup winning aspirations. |

I think Villa needs this. They need fresh investment as the youth policy just doesn't seem to have worked. _________________

He really wasn't, tell me what he did well that marked him out as a special player |
Size, power, energy, a knack for the spectacular. He's strong in the air and has a good range of passing. From 2009-11 he was, alongside Wilshere, the most promising English midfielder.
But sure he was completely average, despite being called up by the national side and bossing the U-21s. |
I agree with you Tex on Rodwell........but Shola also bossed at Eng U21 level and he's abysmal. |

Yeah, Villa 100% need this. Seeing some of the empty stadiums and terrible support at Villa Park over the past couple of seasons confirms this. The club need a fresh face to get behind and some serious investment in the first team. _________________

I said Rodwell was overrated when City signed him; yet to see anything to prove otherwise. _________________

So Pepe Mel and West Brom have parted company.
Wonder if he'll be going for the Malaga job (as reported) and wonder who West Brom will get (presume Moyes is too rich for their case). They shouldn't have sacked Clarke anyway. _________________

I hope things get better. Lerner has been great for the club but thing got out of hand financially and he had to reel it in. I hope Oracle takes over, I'd welcome out technocrat overlords _________________

Thought this was a great video that captured the PL season highs/lows quite well from NBCSN Premier League Year in Review
Also thought NBC did nice job overall especially compared to what we've been used to .. looking forward to August 14th already (I'll be in Vegas when the season kicks off so early morning for me I suppose) _________________

Do love NBC's coverage compared to ESPN, but I do miss Darke and Macca. _________________

Fair trade-off for losing Wynalda & Barton.. I do hope Darke/Macca do the FA Cup final which I believe is on ESPN this year and not Fox (which means no Gus Johnson like last year I'd assume..) _________________
