My first draft specifically for Falcons. Criticism please! Decided to do one first with no trades.

1. Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo
2. Jimmy Ward, S, Northern Illinois
3. C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa
4. Seantrel Henderson, OT, Miami
4 (comp). DeAnthony Thomas, OW/RB, Oregon
5. Kevin Pierre-Louis, LB, Boston College
6. J.C. Copeland, FB, LSU
7. Antwan Lowery, G, Rutgers
7. Derrick Hopkins, DT, Virginia Tech
7. Keith Wenning, QB, Ball State

Tear it up! I tried to be as realistic as possible, addressing needs and character concerns, along with players weve been interested in and that interest me Very Happy

I really like this draft overall and wouldn't be disappointed in the least if this happened. The only thing I would say is while I do like DAT as a player, my thinking is that we would be better off drafting a guy who could eventually be the lead back, not just a change of pace/offensive weapon kind of guy. This could partially be due to me Jerrick McKinnon bias, but I'm hoping we could take him around the same area, as he has a little better size and could be durable enough to take over SJax's role in a year or two.

I like it. It's really straight forward, so there's not a lot to tear on.

Funny thing is, I had Jerick McKinnon in the same draft a little bit later, along with DAT. But with those two and J.C. Copeland, I felt like I had too many picks directed at the backfield (though DAT is more of a weapon in general).

Great first Falcons mock, I really like it, one of the better ones I've seen recently tbh. I'm growing on Mack..

I liked it too but...I'm not thinking Mack is gonna make it to #6. Would love to have Mack, but he's coming with an additional price I'm afraid.
Now that we have Hester, I'm not really looking a DAT too much. He's pretty much being drafted as a return specialist on a team that just signed a guy specifically to do that. I would prefer a WR this year because this draft is so stacked at that position and we have our top two receivers coming off injury riddled seasons.

Sign me up for this draft i'll take it it has 3 to 5 of the same exact players i have in my drafts in the 1st 5 rounds. Depending on what draft im feeling at the time be it OT or DE/LB in the 1st. or Joyner vs Ward in the 2nd when i go back and forth on them.

Thanks for the feedback, Ill post another one eventually before the draft starts. I still think DAT is a good option for us regardless of the Hester signing, we would get a player who provides much more offensive ability, and if Hester goes down or loses some speed on return, DAT can step in on those duties as well. Not to mention learn from arguably the best returner of all time.

I think with us signing Rafael Bush to an offer sheet, assuming we get him, I wont have Ward in the 2nd for us. While thats tough to do (I really like Ward), I think the pick would be better spent on a higher OL prospect, or even doubling up on the DL. It also would provide the possibility of trading up more successfully which I think is very important. We wouldnt need to take a FS in the second, allowing us to trade up to 1 or 2 for Clowney or Mack. That being said, I still think regardless that we draft a S at some point, just not the second (again, assuming we get Bush). Really hope we do, I had him as my Falcons Player for a couple years when we select one to follow for the year!
