Yeah I'm pumped for this kid. I really hope he lives up to expectations. Don't want to put unfair expectations on him, though.

He looked fully legit in his debut tonight. I can't wait to see him play with Kane and [insert LW here].

I agree, it would have been better to see him on the ice with Kaner. Dude was a steal at 18 in '12, lots of people thought he would go top 3. He's been compared to Kane mostly as well.

Correct me if i'm wrong as well, but im pretty sure Tuevo is a LW?

Center. Won 7 out of 7 faceoffs last night. Gonna be tough to keep that pace...

Hawks have St. Louis in the first round. Better than facing the Avs, but not great.

I don't like the new playoff system. It sort of mimics the NFL in a way. I thought top 8 with re-seeding was much better.

Me too, but they're catching STL in the middle of a big slide. They've been outscored something like 22-5 their last 5 games and have lost their last 2 to the Hawks as well.

Their slide is a plus. But it's going to be an insanely physical series. Bollig will likely stay on the 4th line with Shaw on the 3rd but it will be interesting to see if Bickell gets bumped up to skate with some of the skill guys.

Forward line combos at today's practice:
1. Saad / Toews / Versteeg
2. Sharp / Handzus / Hossa
3. Bickell / Shaw / Kane
4. Bollig / Kruger / Smith
"5." Morin / Nordstrom / Regin

Weird seeing Kane on the third line, but at least he's with some muscle. The right wingers could get shuffled at some point or in-game as well.

KANER!!!!

When he was flying down the ice I just said to my friend "This just has the feel of a game-winner right here..." Sure enough, he nails it!

Yeah, this one ain't comin' easy. Hopefully we can win in Stl and then finish 'em off at home, but the Hawks seem to like making us sweat it out.

I gotta go to STL for work in a few weeks and I'd love to be able to talk some smack while I'm there...

Movin' on to round 2. Cool

I'd like to see a Minnesota comeback.

You should get the Wakey Wakey Backes t-shirt.

I hope so. The Avs have been a nightmare opponent for years now.

Yeah, won't be doing that. Pretty strong chance I wear some of my Hawks gear when I hit up a Cardinals game while I'm there though. Cool

I love, BTW, how after he got cheap shotted by Seabrook that Backes all of a sudden became this sympathetic figure when in reality he plays the game on and frequently over the edge and takes cheap shots at guys regularly (see after Hossa scored in game 5). Hate to say things like this cuz I never wanna see a guy get hurt and because Seabrook was an idiot for doing it, but Backes absolutely had it coming.

Bring on the Wild! That was an intense game 7.

It really was. One of the better game 7s I can remember. I loved that we got to keep seeing Patrick Roy's derp look too lol.
