No shock there. Didn't lose much and brought in a player or 2. Next year hopefully we get a few earlier picks

I would imagine a couple of 3rds with Collins and MJ93 getting big deals. It is not as if we are going to sign a FA of any value to counteract those signings.

I would imagine a 3 and a 4 but not 2 3s

That's what I'm thinking.

Hope you're right 'C4MVP'.

However, I'm sure you know, the value of their deals is not the only factor. An element of the value of the comp picks is based upon playing time, and postseason success.

If the Buccs and/or Vikes make it to the play-offs and deeper to the conference championship game or better, and MJ and AC play 100% of the snaps, our comp picks will be of a higher value than if MJ and AC get dinged early in the season and their new teams don't make it to the play-offs.

3.(88)
4.(123)
5.(164)

Personally, with so many picks and so little room on the roster, I'd like to see the team possibly use the tradeable late picks (comp picks can't be traded) to move up a little if a player they like is there. I'd love to see Gilbert in stripes myself, and with two extra picks in hand, trade up if possible. Obviously it would cost a day two pick, but I'm ok with it.

See I dont mind moving day 3 picks, but day 2 picks to me are too valuable. I would be ok moving a 5 and 6 to move up, but I dont see it happening

Recycling something I wrote at another site:

Looking at the picks awarded, the last 3rd rounder was for Dashon Goldson, while the first 4th rounder was for Gosder Cherilus. This lists the actual picks:

http://nfllabor.file...atory-picks.pdf

This is a projections which is actually not bad but more importantly tells who the pick was for:

http://www.philly.co...rojections.html

So looking up Goldson and Cherilus's contracts, we see Goldson got 5 years 41.25 mil from Tampa with a first year cap hit of 8.735 mil.

Cherilus got 5 years/35 mil from the Colts with a first year hit of 3.9 mil.

So we should get a 3rd rounder for MJ93 and a 4th for Collins.

The last 7th rounder awarded was for Kenyon Coleman who got a 1 year, 1.005 mil deal. So Ghee and Newhouse are probably too cheap to affect picks either way.

Yeah 'INB' I like Gilbert too.

To be anything like sure of getting him, we'd probably have to get ahead of Detroit @ #10, which would probably mean offering this and next years 2nd rounders. Don't think the Bengals are that brave.......
