What about Lerentee McCray? Does he have what it takes? He is as big as a lot of the guys that play MLB in the league.

Maybe, but I doubt it. He plays the exact same role as Von does. I don't believe he has ever played MLB.

Yeah, hes a strongside linebacker. He's much like Nate Irving to be honest. Both are stout in the run game but lack athleticism and instincts to flourish in sideline-to-sideline systems.

I don't know much about McCray, but looking at his scouting report on Ourlads.com, he seems like he has more athleticism and speed than Irving, and he is an inch taller and 10 pounds heavier. I'm not saying he's the answer (the answer is probably not on the roster yet), but he may have more potential there than Nate.

However, if they don't draft anyone suitable, I believe that they will bring in another vet. Desmond Bishop may be a possibility, as well as this man:

London Fletcher!

He retired, but I read that he is leaving the door open to play on a contender. That may be a road that Elway will go down eventually.

I hope they find a suitable rookie this year, but if they do bring in a vet, I hope it's one of these two. No Erin Henderson or Paris Lenon, please.

You can't look at measurables in comparison to other MLBs in order to determine if someone is a fit there. McCray played a role like Miller in college. He had his hand in the dirt, he stood up, he was more of a hybrid pass rusher. He would get crushed in the middle.

Frankly, if Denver can make the SB with Paris Lenon at MLB, I don't know how bad we need a big time player there. As I've said, the reality is that the MLB position isn't a huge part of our defense and isn't necessarily crucial to win the SB.
