First, I want to say I don't THINK or necessarily WANT this to happen, but I just wanted to gauge interest on what people thought about signing Kenny Britt to a no risk deal. It looks like we'll be losing Nicks to free agency and we may need a threat on the outside. I know all about Britt's history with injuries and arrests but it could be worth the risk.

Here's why I think it could be a decent course of action:
1. We're probably losing Nicks, leaving us with only Randle as a viable outside threat.
2. I know Jernigan looked good at the end of last year, but that was primarily out of the slot after Cruz went down.
3. I don't think Watkins will be there at 12. I think after the combine he'll shoot up draft boards and be a top 6 or 7 pickish.

Again, I don't really think this will happen, it doesn't seem to be the Giants way, but I'm not sure if it wouldn't be worth the risk. Britt should be pretty hungry and play with a chip on his shoulder after not getting a decent deal on the market, he has local ties (from Bayonne, went to Rutgers), and I would like to think that we have enough veteran leadership in the locker room to maybe keep him behaved, at least around the team. What are your guys thoughts?

Britt's problems are with his friends in New Jersey. He should not play in NJ.

When Britt played, he didn't look too effective. I'm not sure if it was because he was still injured or if it was because the coaching staff didn't want him to succeed, or if he wanted to be Desean Jackson.

He's not good and gets in trouble regularly. Don't know why anyone would want him.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

I don't mind exploring other WR options, but I wouldn't sign Britt to a vet minimum contract tbh.

assuming he could 110% medically check out I would not be opposed to it. by all accounts he was on his best behavior this season (albeit after yet another instance involving the police, though nothing that he did wrong or was charged for), and you wonder if - like Adam Jones - the light started to go off a little bit for him. don't forget that he was totally beasting out before he tore up his knee in 2011.

the giants have a great cohesive unit of veterans. after all we took a chance on Will Hill. set him up with Tuck, Trel, Cruz as his "big brother." vet minimum is nothing, and at the first sign of trouble you can dump his azz.

This. Dude is garbage and was legitimately one of the worst WRs in the league last year.
