Im done here.

He did. He had one GLARING flaw...arm strength. That's not near flawless.

Near flawless...at least to me...means the guy has nearly everything except for one or two very MINOR flaws.

Bingo. Vast majority of people won't or can't dismiss what they've seen in their pro careers when making a call on this.

Going by hype alone, which is huge when talking about draft prospects, I don't recall Manning being "the greatest QB prospect since Elway" or anything close to it & there also being pretty big split amongst draft people between him & Leaf. Luck was hyped beyond belief for his entire college career practically, held up as a paradigm of what a QB should be & was a Colt from the second they clinched the 1st pick. I don't see how it isn't Luck.
If Manning wasn't hyped... than why were people saying he was the greatest prospect since Manning? Laughing
Not as hyped as Luck =/= wasn't hyped.

The point I was trying to make was that it seems popular opinion that Luck was the consensus #1 pick while Manning was contending with Leaf. There really wasnt much truth behind the Leaf actually being the #1 pick. It was speculation, just like we saw in 2012. There were several media outlets that were pushing Robert Griffin as the #1 pick, the same thing happened with Manning/Leaf. How much truth can we put into the media speculating that Leaf or Griffin could have gone first overall?

Not as hyped as Luck =/= wasn't hyped.

When people say he's the best since X that generally mean they view X as better or they would go back further.

Everyone saying he was the best since Peyton is everyone saying Peyton was better.

Manning was getting similar question marks coming out of college.

And yet when I see videos of young Manning in the NFL, I see a stronger arm. And I remember prime Manning having a stronger arm than Luck has.

Manning definitely came out with an arm anyone would want. Only reason there was any question about his "laser rocket arm" was because Leaf had an ICBM arm.

Easy. Peyton.

Luck's arm was always a problem at Stanford and the argument that he played in a great system has merit. Peyton was Tenn.

If they are all available in the same draft, rank: Griffin III, Luck, Manning and Leaf.

No way. RG3 was a product of the media as much as anyone. Luck and Manning have him by miles as prospect.

Sorry. I listed them in alphabetical order and wanted a ranking. I can see how you misunderstood. If I remember the buzz about Leaf as well as I think I do, he very well could have been above Luck. Especially with Peyton in the same class.
