He has been cut by the Texans today. Do you think we will show any interest and or should we?

There is no one in the league I would rather Thomas and Rambo to learn!!! Sadly his age and health have left him a shell of his former self!! Besides we have no money!!!! I dont think we could afford the vet min even if he was willing to play for such a small contract!!!

I think it depends on his injury. But coming here would be favorable based on his relationship with the Ravens.

I would welcome it.

The whole salary?

I think a portion of it will be, but not the entire salary.

I'm Trying to remember when we signed Hall. I think we paid some portion of his contract but the Raiders still owed him the guarantees.

I'm not even sure I want him. Read this article and his quotes and tell me this is a 35 year old player past his prime that you want on your team. He was injured this offseason and hasn't done anything this season, the 2-7 Texans wouldn't start him.

I honestly don't know how much he can help us at this point and I think he's done.

Quote:
Reed's deal included a $2 million signing bonus and a total of $5 million guaranteed.

Any team that opted to sign Reed would owe him $411,000 in remaining base salary this year in addition to a $62,500 per game roster bonus for the remainder of the season.

He's due a $4 million base salary in 2014 and a $5 million base salary in 2015, both nonguaranteed. Reed took a $2 million advance from the Texans on his 2014 salary this year.

For those reasons and Reed's decline in play, if a team wants him, it's more likely they would work out a veteran minimum contract for this year with incentive clauses based on playing time and production.

No thanks. He hasn't performed well this season, and I don't wanna have the Redskins pay him any part of his contract in Houston.

Sure. Cut Fred Davis and give his money to Reed. Let the young guys learn from Reed. Dont have anything to lose at this point.

We'd still be on the hook for paying for Fred just like the Texans are. Therefore it doesn't create any cap space.

I don't think we have the cap space to sign Reed

Then cut Grossman. Cut someone. If you cut someone, the whole salary doesn't got against the cap, does it?

If you cut a vested veteran, yes, their salary counts against the cap. If a vested veteran makes the opening day roster, their salary becomes guaranteed specifically to prevent something like this from happening.
