Manziel was electric again today.... Dang it's hard not to like that kid.

Crazy to say but after today I think I would be good with Manziel... Mettenberger.... Or McCarron.

Can someone explain the 3 picks? Watching ESPN apparently all Manziel did was throw 5 touchdowns, and Mississippi State did absolutely nothing (Zero highlights of MSU's plays, despite putting 40 up)

I did not see them (wife drug me out of the house) but I heard second hand two were tipped balls... One I think was red zone... Inside the 5. Forced it.

I have seen very few highlights of the game so far... Rather disappointing.

Mettenberger will want this 2nd half erased from his tape, horrible half from the entire LSU.

He has the tendency to force those redzone passes. I wonder if its because his ability to scramble open receivers has been taken away.

Derek Carr is a franchise quarterback.

He's on ESPN 2 going against Brett Smith.

I get really afraid because he seems like he has some problems to over come.

Holding onto the ball too long, staring down receivers, not going through progressions.

Maybe i'm just gun shy because those are Weeden problems.

He goes through his progressions. That's actually a positive of his game.

The first pick was terrible. In the redzone and nothing was opening up, he really should have lived to fight another down but he threw the ball tamely and much later than he should have, giving the corner an easy break on the ball. He was something like 11/11 passing up to that point. Second INT was a tipped ball the receiver should have caught. Third INT wasn't great, probably shouldn't have thrown the ball but the DB made a good break to the sideline.

Otherwise he was his usual sensational self, epitomised by a 26 yard run on 3rd and 25...

Same here. Everytime I see him, the dude looks like Blaine Gabbert at Mizzou. Screens and slants every play and the tiniest bit of pass rush disturbs him.

Over 60% of the time, that's what most college QBs are like.

What separates him in my mind is the accuracy and ball placement when he has to pass into a smaller window downfield. He's fairly good at that.

Yeah, but his IQ in the pocket seems to be much, much lower when there's a fairly good push from the DL. I haven't watched much of him from his JR year when his offense was different, but I'll check the tape out.

I haven't seen him play enough to comment, but I've read the same from multiple places.

I guy who gets rattled by pressure worries me. That's pretty much the long and the short of success in the league, being able to stand in the pocket and make throws under pressure.

A guy doesn't have to scorch a defense every time he's blitzed, but he at least has to get the ball out and not make dumb mistakes.
