We're entering our bye at 5-4 and the playoffs aren't out of the conversation. To clarify because I know what people are going to come in here and say:

- I don't think we are definitely one of the best six teams in the AFC
- I understand this is a rebuilding year
- This is to have a place where we figure out who we want to win every week and talk about our competition. Nothing more, nothing less.

I did this back in 2009 too and we all remember how awesome that playoff race went for us(yay for sitting Peyton!): http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=361414&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

How the hell are the Patriots the two seed? Shows how weak the AFC is when teams like the Panthers are better than 3/6 teams on that list.

The Colts are 6-2 now. They should be the #3 seed.

Because the Broncos and Chiefs are in the same division and the Patriots have played more games than the Colts have.

Now that makes sense.

Thank you.

Carolina is the only team with a winning record left on the schedule. I feel good about our chances of winning 3-4 more games. We are a team that feed off of success, so if we make the playoffs, we could potentially make another run.

I still think we can beat the Bengals in a playoff situation. So I'm not to worried about the Bengals or Colts. Chiefs will lose that #1 spot and become a wildcard team. We'll end up playing Tom or Peyton next, two QB's Rex has beaten before.

The big things to see here are that a lot of these teams are going to beat up on each other, while the Jets get to avoid the tough matchups for the most part. Becoming a better road team is very important, I think if we manage to go 2-2 in the remaining road games(@BUF,@BAL,@CAR,@MIA) then we'll be in the playoffs.

I am worried about Tennessee though, they have a tiebreaker over us and they'll be favorites in 5 of their last eight games

Yeah if we make it to the playoffs you can't count us out against anyone with Rex preparing the gameplan. Pats beat us 45-3 before we knocked em out when it counted!

We did this without Holmes. So when we get him back, there should be a little progress on offense. I like our chances, I do fear denver, but like I said, Rex has beat him before.

BTW this story is very similar. A turnover prone QB who is propped up by a great defense and a decent rushing attack. Heads into the bye week winning more games than expected and that team around 500.

Looks like we are going to the AFCCG boys.

Easy fellas. Still half a season left. Lots of things can go wrong.

I like this squad, and the coaching staff has been fantastic, but I remain cautiously optimistic. Still, if they get healthy and find any kind of consistency, we'll actually find ourselves in some meaningful December games.

This, I am very excited to see how this team clicks with all of our receivers back. I like the underdog role lets not get ahead of ourselves (I like this thread though)

Sweet thread, I'm interested to see how this all plays out. I do think we can beat Buffalo at home and I think we defiantly have a decent chance to win out at Metlife. Not sure how I feel about the Ravens and Panthers, so far we haven't been very good on the road besides Monday Night in ATL. All this being said it really comes down to consistency and Geno's progression as a QB (mainly not turning it over as much). The bye week could not have come at a more perfect time in my opinion, we're gonna get a boost on offense for sure with Holmes, K2, and Cumberland all set to return.

good news so far is that Jacksonville is helping us out a lot and IND is going to lose, bad news is that it looks like BAL is going to win which would place them only one game behind us.
