The Titans need to add a PR. Wimbley sucks and is a waste of space and money. Morgan is a good all-around DE but not a great PR. It's sad when our best PR has been Ropati.

Gotta admit when I read this the first thing I thought was "Since was has Ropati been returning punts?" Laughing

Laughing Should've been more specific.

Contrary to what is out there Seattle is NOT one of the teams in it for Jared Allen. Two others but Seattle is not talking to Vikes for him

Well then.

Wonder what it would cost to get him?

And now that one's gone too (the Broncos are out). But I doubt Allen would want to come here... likely wants to go to a contender.

The only thing I wanted to avoid during this trade deadline was the Colts making a move for Josh Gordon or Hakeem Nicks. So, mission accomplished.

You know the Colts are gonna target Nicks in FA right? I feel Irsay's the type of owner that won't flinch a throwing big money.

I'm only focused on the present. But really, the Colts have handed out a pretty significant amount of money lately. Not sure they can afford to hand out another big contract.

According to PFF, Derrick Morgan has been the 3rd best pass rushing defensive end in football this year.

Gotta take that with a grain of salt given their ranking system, though.

Quote:
Pro Football Focus ‏@PFF 8h

Top ranked 4-3 defensive end rushing the passer is Robert Quinn (+26.6). 2nd is Michael Bennett (+12.9) and 3rd Derrick Morgan (+8.6)

He isn't a dynamic pass rusher, though. He gets good push and hurries the QB, but doesn't finish the job and get the sack nearly as much as we would hope.

Obviously guys like Ware, Suggs, Smith, etc don't grow on trees, but we need an IMPACT pass rusher.

Not really, they have Richardson for a bargain due to the trade, Luck's in his rookie deal, TY Hilton's on his rookie deal. The only guys making any significant coin now on their roster is Wayne, whose future is now uncertain, and Landry. Erik Walden was overpaid, but he's not making a ton of money relatively.

Yeah the Colts dished out some money this summer. Mostly on players I questioned. Don't know how much of that is real money. Maybe it was that Philly money when they signed the "dream team?"

But they gave some money out....not counting when players like Mathis want to re-up for more money since he is leading in Sacks.

Still not a relatively large amount of money. A little google research has projections for the Colts cap in 2014 around 25-30 million. with no looming players up to break the bank until Luck, richardson and Hilton in 2014. They should be able to make a run at Nicks this offseason. Number would get bigger should they decide to move on from Wayne or he retires.
