He's the lead draft analyst for Bleacher Report and gave the Cards a hell of a draft imo.

1st Round 18th Overall Pick- OT Cameron Erving Florida State

2nd Round 49th Overall Pick- OLB Michael Sam Missouri

Do you like Sam? He's obviously been producing but I really don't see a very good athlete.

I just finished watching tape of him against Florida. He's definitely no speedster and will be a DE in the NFL no doubt. He simply doesn't have enough speed to play OLB in the NFL and lines up as a DE most of the time in college anyways. After watching some tape of him I don't like him as much as I initially did. He just isn't that elite pass rusher the Cardinals need. I feel like all the Cardinals defense is really missing is that pass rusher that just creates havoc for opposing offenses. Then offenses have to double team him and that frees up some space for our other solid players (Campbell, Dockett, etc.). Sam just isn't that game changer the Cards are looking for. But he is a solid player who plays hard. If he is the BPA and there are no QB's worthy of the pick I wouldn't mind at all if the Cards took Sam.

We'll be picking in the late-teens so those franchise LT's will likely be gone. Starting to warm up to Bortles and Manziel since we won't be picking top-10 like we thought.

Also love Haha C-Dix...

Well I don't know about you but I'd be pretty happy with getting Erving regardless of where we are in the draft. He's a franchise LT imo but what do I know...

Anyways yea I like Haha a lot too. Don't see it being much of a possibility that he goes to the Cardinals but him and Matheiu on the same field is a nice thought Wink

Sam at 49 isn't too bad and Erving at 17 is great value, not bad draft

I'm saying that I think Erving will be gone by our pick:

HOU
@JAC
IND
@PHI
STL
@TEN
@SEA
SF

I think we're winning 8-9 games at least. We went .500 two years ago and picked 13th but there's a lot more terrible teams this season...

What a difference a week makes.

I was talking 3-13 season and bam we smash the Falcons and I am thinking it might be 7 wins or so.

Football is a fickle animal.

Erving will still be around 13 - 16, after that no.

But there is also Hurst, CK, Richardson and a few others, LT is deep this year, like 2 years ago when we passed on Reiff

I love this draft. I think Michael Sam is the real deal (not a 1 year wonder). Missouri has been churning out NFL pass rushers lately.

Unfortunately, We're probably going to need a QB in the 1st 2 rounds.

Charlie Campbell mock draft

Round 1 Johnny football Manziel QB Texas A&M
Round 2 Zach Martin OG/OT Notre Dame
Round 3 Chris Smith OLB Arkansas

I have seen worse projections mentioned for us, above has us picking 18 overall

Thoughts?

Thoughts? Adios Shaun??

Edit: I got Charlie Cambell mixed up with Charlie Casserly so I doubt there's any rumored interest or what-have-you...
