Excluding the preseason, when do you think Jason Campbell will get his first start?
I personally don't think he'll get his first start until the 2007 season. What do you guys think? |

| I think it'll be if Ramsey gets hurt. If he is here the next 2 seasons which could happen I think he'll miss a game because of injury, allowing Campbell to step in. I definitly think Campbell will be the full time starter in 2007 though. |

I think Gibbs would go with Brunell if Ramsey gets hurt this season. If Campbell progesses very quickly though, I'd like to see him come in if something happens to Pat. |

This season he'd probably go with Brunell but i'm hoping he wouldn't. Also there's another way he could get his first start but I hope it doesn't happen like this:
We're out of contention for the playoffs in December and Gibbs wants to see what he can do. |

I recently read that Coles said that it wasn't so much that Brunell was playing bad, but that the offense was just too conservative. I can see where that could have been the case.
Even if it's not true though, you can't throw a rookie QB in like that. It almost never happens, and when it does they almost never succeed. You could ruin the QBs entire career by starting him too early.
Look at it this way. How many division I-A freshmen QBs start for their college team? Not many at all. There is no reason to think that a rookie QB in the NFL should be ready to start in his freshman year either. |
