http://httr24-7.com/film-room/all-22-brian-orakpos-impact-vs-the-dallas-cowboys/

Please take the time to read through HTTR-24-7's breakdown of how effective Rak was last Sunday night vs the Cowboys. He was effective eventhough he didn't get a sack. He got a lot pressure on Romo and he should have drawn 4 holding penalties on the Cowboys.

No one seemed to be able to consistently block him and the Cowboys seemed to get some home cooking as far as penalties go.

We had 12 penalties for 104 YDs. The cowboys only had 7 for 80.

They held Rak 4 times during the game, which went uncalled. They held Bowen twice it went uncalled, Cofield once and Kerrigan once. That's 7 more penalties that weren't called for 70 YDs. Sad

lol are we still trumpeting the "Orakpo was held" cry?

He wasn't held. He was blocked. Oh and even more lulz at giving Orakpo credit for a Perry Riley sack when Riley was a free rusher.

Hopefully, Orakpo will leave for free agency in the offseason and we can draft a real linebacker as a replacement.

He gets pressure, Rob Jackson gets ints, Kerrigan does it all. Having the 3 of them on the field at the same time on 2nd and 3rd and long is a tripple threat against opposing offenses.

If we could somehow trade Orakpo for a 1st rd pick, I wouldn't even blink.

He's a good pass rusher.
Nothing more, nothing less.

But if I could net a 1st rd pick for him?

Start Kerrigan, Jackson, Riley & Fletcher & have a shot for an elite WR, O-Lineman or Safety in the upcoming 14' draft.

Again...I wouldn't even blink.

Jackson comes in after a 4 game suspension and picks off Romo...

I will say this though...
Orakpo is the best velcro LBer in the business though.

Give me the playmaking LBer over the 1 trick pony pass rusher any day, gentleman.

That's all I have to say about that.

No one is giving up a first rounder for a guy they could sign in the offseason.

Orakpo should be used on third downs and obvious passing situations.

Ace- great to see ya buddy but were not going to be able to trade a pending free agent, especially not for a 1st.

Orakpo is our 2nd best pass rusher and capable of getting double digit sacks in a year, if he was on the LOLB like Kerrigan, he would get more ths. His average of 9 per season.

I like what we have at OLB. A do it all in Kerrigan,a good pass rusher in Rak, an opportunistic Jackson with good instincts and skills and a young pass specialist in Jenkins who will only improve.

I like the 3rd. Down package Haz revealed last week, ROLB Rak, LDE Kerrigan and LOLB Jackson

It makes sense to bring him back, he's improving his tackling as he gets more comfortable and trusts his pec more and more and he gets better in coverage every year, but that's never going to be his strength.

I Can't figure the tittle of this thread,, "All-22 Orakpo"..What does that mean ?
Also, Heard Chick Hernandez report that Orakpo had ZERO stats vs. the Cowboys. No sacks, no tackles, no ASSISTED tackles.. Rolling Eyes

All 22 is the coaches tape. They reviewed the coached tape and broke down his plays.

It'd not all about stats. As I said, please read the article.

He had about 5 pressures on Manning. Rewatch the game and see how many times his pressure or Bowen's pressure cause Manning to throw early or caused an incompletion in the first 3 quarters.

As Thai says, stats don't always tell the whole story
