Cowboys signed DE Everette Brown.

Brown, the No. 43 overall pick in the 2009 draft by the Panthers, was a massive bust. He hasn't played since 2011 with the Chargers when he made two tackles in three games. Brown has six career sacks in 31 appearances. The 26-year-old former Florida State Seminole will be limited to special teams if active.

Be nice if Rod can work his magic, Brown reminded me of a poor mans Bruce Irvin so maybe he can give a lift to the pass rush depth on 3rd downs only?

I'm more interested in on who they cut to fill the spot?

And why are we not looking at DB's with all the injuries we have back there?

I remember thinking a lot of him in his draft year. Too bad things didn't really work out for him. We can use all the bodies we can get on the line.

What back alley dumpster did they have to set on fire to uncover this "gem"?

Went back and studied his 30 something appearances. He has a very fast jump and is really 'twitchy' - probably why Marinelli gave a nod to him joining his unit.

But beyond that...

He has horrible hand work. Lacks any sort of move after the snap to beat a blocker. Has almost no push from his legs. And seems to be pretty subpar at shredding a block to make a tackle on a runner.

His sacks came on a quick jump and a quick jump only, beating the blocker on the jump and slipping through. He's not really the fighter/pusher type, and likely, unless he's made some drastic strides in his game, will just be 'just another guy to mix in' at the very best.

Don't go gettin any hopes up thinking he'll be something. All signs point to a yawn more than a cheer.

Well a whole bunch of you always talk about churning the bottom of the roster annually. Rod believes in doing it weekly.
